Sega Teases Castle of Illusion Remake?

The cryptic video you see above has appeared on Sega's Youtube account, but some clues point to it possibly being a Castle of Illusion remake. Other than the art style there's also a copyright in the lower right corner of "1990, 2013 Disney". 1990 is when the original Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse was released.

This AND Ducktales?

If someone at Disney basically said "hey, instead of making tons of crappy new licensed games, why don't we remake all of the good ones we've had over the years" I would be fully on board.

I was just thinking the same thing. I'd be happy to even see an eventual remake like that with Aladdin and The Lion King. They were both fun and challenging platformers.

The Sega version>Snes version.

Castle of Illusion was a truly awesome game. I'm happy to see a remake but then again I'm just as happy to play the original. I don't know how I would want those old games updated. The graphics and music were both so good for the time.

I'm typically not against the remake of awesome games but both Disney and SEGA have been hurting in the gaming dpt. lately so this comes off slightly as desperation.

Awesome. Now, do Quackshot as well please!

I would love to see some I the genesis era X-men and Wolverine games come back.

Even lazy ports will do.

If this leads Square to go "You know what? We should totally redo Mario RPG" then Disney can do whatever the fuck they want to.
