Fresh Screens and Concept Art of Deadpool

Quote:

A bunch of screenshots and artwork of Deadpool, which is a third-person action game being developed by High Moon Studios for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Publisher Activision has set a vague release window of Summer 2013. The game stars the eponymous wise-cracking mercenary/anti-hero from Marvel Comics so gamers can expect equal portions of typical Deadpool humour (check out that rocket!) and action.

Oh look, Cable--a character who may or may not have mutant powers. But he has shoulders and guns! He's Rob Leifeld's wet dream, flashing eye and all.

Cable has some telekinetic powers. Also has that whole "techno-organic" virus thing going on. Not to mention from a possible future and marvel shenanigans.

The only thing with cable in it I actually followed was Cable and Deadpool.

Cable is badass if I remember. He should be super powerful, but he uses the majority of his powers to keep the virus in check. I'm pretty sure he is the future child of Jean Grey and Cyclops. That all came from old knowledge so it could have changed been fleshed out in the last 20 years. Oh, the memories from junior high.

Yeah, first and foremost he is a super-soldier from the future who uses guns and the ability to teleport as his main weapons. He is a very powerful telekinetic but he uses that to keep a technovirus (his arm) in check, so in most cases he can kill something better with a gun than by summoning the concentration to use his telekinetic powers. However, the telekinesis he uses on this gives him super-human strength and durability which make him vicious in hand-to-hand (this is not on the level of the Hulk or other superheroes that focus on these things, but he is a little less durable and strong than say Spider-Man). He's also very smart - a master strategist.

Personally, I am not a fan. The whole warrior from the future bit is still a trope even with the added intricacy.

There was no other character in the Marvel universe that I disliked more than Cable, which works, because there was no other person in comics I disliked more than Rob "Can't Draw Feet" Crapfeld.

I do however love me some Deadpool.

I have the character's first several appearances in the old The New Mutants comics. His powers and abilities were never flesh out, heh, for long after he debuted and became the leader of the team.

"I'm Cable!"
"Did you just walk in around the corner in our secret base?"
"I have guuuuuuns!"
"Wait, couldn't any human just shoot shit?"
"My eye flashes for undisclosed reasons."
"Does it do any--
"GUUUUUUNNNS!"
"You should lead our team."

So yeah, he's vapid.

...I'm shocked they haven't done a Psylocke game. (90's Psylocke)

Because meatheads worked for gears of war....

Come on guys, Cable was a stable in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Albeit the cheese was strong with that one.
