No Multiplayer Mode in Bioshock Infinite
 

In response to a fan question on Twitter, Ken Levine has finally confirmed that Bioshock Infinite will not have a multiplayer mode. A few months ago a rumor circulated that multiplayer had been cut from the game, now it's official.

Good. Not every game needs multi and it won't dilute the dev team's focus.

I'm glad 2K is not as hell bent on shoehorning multiplayer as EA is.

Well, too bad they didn't decide outright. Because I guarantee they did waste time on it, and that it was cut because it was doing just that (while not working out). In other words... too late, but I agree with the sentiment.

Now they have more time to make the girl look younger and her tits even bigger.

multiplayer in some games is a weak addon anyhow. I could care less for multiplayer in this game. I can get my Black ops fix if I need it.

Yeah, this is not a multiplayer title.

Publishers' relentless pursuit to tag on multiplayer won't stop unless game industry in general finds a better business model for singleplayer games.

I can live with that, because it shows the devs recognized it was a problem, and pulled the plug. Too many other teams (and publishers) would've pushed through and just released a crappy multiplayer experience that was finished at the cost of taking resources away from the single-player game. Sure they may have wasted some time on it, but they made the right call in the end.
