Mass Effect 3 - Space Edition Trailer

Follow Mass Effect 3 as it travels to space and back.

Quote:

To celebrate Commander Shepard’s war to take Earth back, Mass Effect 3 will be the first console game launched into Earth’s upper atmosphere on a historic voyage. And you have a chance to take home a piece of that history.

Starting February 23rd, various cities across the globe will host their very own Space Edition launches. Starting with San Francisco, CA and ending in Berlin, Germany.

Track the packages on their flights and be the first to arrive at the landing zone to win an early copy of Mass Effect that has survived space travel. Each Space Edition also comes with an on-of-a-kind fan prize package. Other prizes will also be given out to runner-up participants (subject to availability).

Check back soon for rules and contest entry.

As a huge ME2 fan...this is fucking stupid.

mjarbo 02-22-2012 08:35 PM

I really feel that ME3 has gone overboard with its marketing.

sai tyrus 02-22-2012 09:47 PM

Whatever dude! If Atari had this type of motivation with ET there wouldn't be 10,000 copies buried in a fucking desert right now!!

seriously though this has to be the worst... matter of fact lets have a small contest.. if u can find an advertisement for a game that is worse then this post it. i honestly cant think of anything that is as stupid and pointless as this.

A rather stupid idea, most of them will end up in the ocean.

Why is that a bad idea? That's where they belong after all.

All joking aside, I'm not in the least interested in the singleplayer of this game, but oddly enough the multiplayer in the demo was fantastic.

PacerDawn 02-23-2012 07:02 AM

Actually, it sounds more like the packages are going up in a plane (high altitude?), and then when the plane lands with the packages (wherever that may be), be there to win prizes!

Exciting!

toob_ninja 02-23-2012 07:40 AM

Nope, they are using balloons. Don't know if that ups the excitment for ya, but there you go.

From Joysiq,

"...students from the High Altitude Balloon Club at Texas A&M University will be assisting with each of the six launch sites around the world."

toob_ninja 02-23-2012 07:42 AM

Oops. Joystiq is obviously what I meant, but if your are interested in the "joysiq" domain it is, apparently, available.

DarkDaY 02-23-2012 04:01 PM

wow, that...is really bloody stupid..my head hurts now.

Demo_Boy 02-24-2012 03:47 PM

Wasteful, but effective marketing.

Ozena 02-25-2012 08:19 AM

One copy has been found . . . and it's stuck in a tree. :p
