Modern Warfare 2’s Ghost Getting His Own Game?

That VideoGame Blog is spreading the rumor (http://www.thatvideogameblog.com/2009/11/14/modern-warfare-2s-ghost-getting-his-own-game/) that the Ghost character from Modern Warfare 2 may be getting his own spin-off game.

During Modern Warfare 2’s launch event in the UK, the voice actor for the game’s Ghost character, Craig Fairbrass, mentioned that “they” — presumably Infinity Ward — are considering a game solely for Ghost.

“I did in the last game a voice for a character called Gaz and in this game I’m now voicing a guy called Ghost, who now just got a spin-off comic of his own (http://wildstorm.blog.dccomics.com/2009/10/22/stoked-for-modern-warfare/) and they’re talking about another little game to go with it,” Fairbrass said at the event (video’s on Live), “so, I’m quite excited about it. It’s grown and grown and grown.”

He could go on recon missions... and they could call it... Ghost Recon.

Voice work in Call of Duty has been some of the best in the business. I recognized Ghost's voice actor from the first game, good guy.

But somehow I wonder why bother doing all this stuff around a character that gets killed in the actual game. If it was his brother or something or someone taking up the Ghost mantle, that'd make a lot of sense and might be pretty cool.

Ghost can't star in a game because he (warning sploier) gets shot then set on fire near the end of MW2.

If he can live through that maybe Ghost is GAZ who died in MW. If so then I really don't care about the story in the MW games anymore.

They could do a Modern Warfare Gaiden that takes pace between the two MW games with Ghost but I doubt it.
