CVG (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=227298?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=CVG-General-RSS) is reporting that Russia has decided to remove Modern Warfare 2 from shelves thanks to the now infamous "No Russian" level.

Developer Infinity Ward has apparently patched the PC version to completely edit out the offending level, with a new completely censored version due to be released to retail shortly.

Russia has much more experience with honest-to-god terrorist attacks than America does. We don't have much frame of reference for this sort of thing - but here's something close:

-What if, over the course of the game, you had to be part of a hijack team that flies an airliner into a highrise building? It's not so much the events that cause the flap, but the first-person nature of the game that "makes you a part of it."

There is no way something like that would be put into a mainstream game sold in America. Retailers wouldn't carry it. Heck, I don't think we've near seen the end of the controversy over this game.
