I saw Match Point this weekend. Too bad it's not on the list, it's Woody Allen's best movie in a long time. Perhaps it's not widely distributed yet?

I'm surprised that Freedomland only had a $7 million dollar opening weekend.

I'm not surprised to see a Disney film at #1 or Date Movie at #2. They've been promoting the hell out of those two films lately...

Has anyone seen "The Pink Panther?" I'm totally shocked at how well it's doing. I wasn't sure the film would find an audience... I guess Beyonce sells?

Oddly, I'm actually looking forward to the other Paul Walker movie, Running Scared, which opens this Friday. It was a low budget flick, so it probably won't be getting a wide release. I've heard some very positive things about it, though.

Umm... Beyonce sells to horny boys (and some girls), but don't discount Steve Martin's ability to bring in $$$. Also, it's a good kids movie. One thing I learned while in Japan was that slapstick humor is international. Me personally, I like my humor a bit more intelligent than Pink Panther or Date Movie, but that's me...

Very true. I've always admired Steve Martin's work. I just didn't know if anyone else still did... ;)

I saw Match Point over a month ago here in the UK. That was one of the better movies I've seen in recent times, really quality. I'd definately reccomend it to anyone, such a good portrayel of obsession and guilt.

I saw Date Movie for free. It was a very good movie to see for free. Other than that, it's only redeeming feature is being able to look at Alyson Hannigan for an hour and a half without repercussion from my girlfriend.

Impressive, that whole list shows an amazing amount of suck.

I went to "The Fastest Indian" this past weekend. Good film & I highly recommend it. If only more cinema was like it.

Well, when he was young and stupid.

Now he's hit that middleaged mainstream "I'm a lovable upholder of traditional values" phase, he's less fun.

Next he has to go thru the Robin Williams "I'm really a Serious Actor" phase.

I take it you skipped The Spanish Prisoner?

I want to see it but it's limited release only, right?

Seeing the box office charts every month and seeing the same kind of results just confirms my belief that Hollywood makes shitty movies not because that's what they're only capable of, but because the average dumbass likes shit. Instead of watching something entertaining, let's watch something shitty. "Hey honey!" "Yes sweety?" "Wanna watch a movie?" "Yeah, sure, how about a movie about snow dogs...with attitude!" "Great idea honey! There's no way that movie won't suck!" Idiots.

Yes, that is correct. It is better than that entire top 10 put together and then some.

Actually I thought Eight Below was pretty entertaining. Make no mistake, we went because I knew the wife would like it. But if I have to attend a certain minimum number of chick flicks each year, I'd rather they be films like this (I absolutely refuse to watch any romantic comedies).

It's a well-done dog movie, so take it for what it is. If you like dogs, then at the very least you should find large segments of the movie entertaining, even if Paul Walker's acting is pretty dull. If you don't like dogs... well, then you're screwed up beyond help anyway. :)

Same goes man.

Besides the kick-ass looking trailer, I think it's the fact that apparantly it got a "hard" R rating and that makes me want to support it. If for no other reason than to show the studios that people are getting sick of the cut up pg-13 shit logs that have been floating around the cinema bowl as of late (I'm looking at you AvP!), and that not everything has to be family friendly.

I know this movie won't do it, but I'm holding out hope that V for Vendetta can open a few more eyes (God that movie looks good).

It's shit.

If I want to see Samuel L. Jackson play a loud mouth again, I'll watch that Chappelle Show skit about the Samuel Jackson beer. I find I like imitations of the guy more than the actual guy.

Three questions Paul Walker was asked by Devin Faraci of CHUD.com:

Q: When you were making Running Scared, did you set out to put the most ‘fucks’ possible into the movie?

Q: I was impressed at how violent this movie was. Did you guys get everything into the final cut that you shot, or was there stuff that you did that didn’t make it into the R-rated version?

Q: This also has one of the most explicit male on female oral sex scenes that I have seen in a long time in a mainstream movie. How did you do that – was there some kind of prosthetic application you’re working on down there?

The responses are also pretty funny.

I know this movie won't do it, but I'm holding out hope that V for Vendetta can open a few more eyes (God that movie looks good).
The involvement of the Watchowski brothers (brother and sister?) scares me, but unless it gets horrendous reviews I don't see myself not going to watch it. Also, A Scanner Darkly looks pretty interesting.

One of my favourite books of all time, you should pick it up if you haven't read it.
