According to this article (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/690/690199p1.html) on IGN (http://www.ign.com), the answer is yes.

According to job listings at various employment agencies around the web, the Call of Duty masterminds at the Encino-based development crew, Infinity Ward is already working on their next videogame console project. In search of programmers and animators to help with a multi-SKU title to be released on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the company is aiming to get new blood into its offices as soon as possible.

Founded by 22 members of the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault team, Infinity Ward has already garnered plenty of attention (from both consumers and peers) for its work on two of most popular World War II franchises of recent memory. Whether or not this new console project is an extension of the Call of Duty series or an original IP, however, remains to be seen.

Recently, Activision confirmed in its quarterly financial results that it would have at least three titles ready for the PlayStation launch before the end of the fiscal year. There has been no confirmation as of yet that indicates that this Infinity Ward project is one of them.
I've been very impressed with Infinity Ward since their inception and I look forward to their next release.

I hope it's something new. I'm getting tired of all these WWII shooters. They are good, but the same weapons, soldiers, vehicles and locations are making it a bit repetitive IMHO. Doing a Vietnam game with the Crytek engine could be nice...

I think the Vietnam setting was beat to death over the last few years. That's not to say that the same hasn't with WWII, it's just that there are more stellar WWII examples than Vietnam ones.

Anyway, a new IP would be pretty awesome.

Give me a kick ass sci-fi game, with COD2 type controls. Actually, give me COD2 multi-player first.

How about something completely different and therefore NOT an FPS?

I'm a firm believer that developers should challenge themselves by occassionally stepping outside of their "comfort zone" and trying something radically different.

How about a story this time out? I really REALLY enjoyed CoD2 and the only thing that could've made it better was a storyline. I like the idea of a Sci-Fi shooter that would be great. I'm not sure about them stepping outside FPS though, they're relatively new and have only released 3 games since inception, all FPS, breaking that mold may not be wise at this point.

I don't care which war, just pick one with fucking Muskets!

Screw all these automatic weapons and plasma rifles, oh how I dream of the day when I can take a horribly inaccurate shot and it takes 3.5 minutes to reload.

That would rule.
