Full Preview at GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/guildwarsfactions/news.html?sid=6144516)
The continent of Cantha is located south of Tyria, the continent where the original Guild Wars is set. Cantha architecture could be described as almost Asian in look and feel, and you'll certainly get a chance to explore a continent that's unlike anything you've seen thus far in Guild Wars.
I'm looking forward to this expansion.

Why wouldn't they? As if there are any other available online rpg's with killer graphics and sound. Yeah, it would be nice if there were more, but the only other games that come close are WoW and EQII, but you have to pay monthly for those. So yeah, a lot of people... probably over a million, still play Guild Wars.

I'm looking forward to Oblivion, and just Oblivion, at the moment. But once that's out and over with, Guild Wars should be ready for more action. I really need to finish up my two GW chars before Obliv's release, I suppose.

..and what's the point of mounts in a game where you can pretty much warp wherever you need to go?

Simply amazing. Way to go, buddy, you just won the title of champiest champ '06. Maybe if you post a few more times I will christen you "gaped out homophobe of repression." Nice work, truly nice work. I'm gonna go thunderpunch myself to sleep now.
I can't understand why people play this piece of shit when WoW is so obviously superior in every way, including it's realistic and proven subscription model!

you are raising a subscription model as a point of superiority? Are you being sarcastic, or are you somehow telling yourself that the more you pay for something, the better it actually is? I'm rather flumoxed trying to understand that this statement could actually be made. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at anything that gets into a forum on this crzy little Internets thing, but really...

Funniest post ever.
Because new races and horses are really thinking outside of the box.
and the rest of it.... I have no clue what your saying exactly, except for that I think you wish games would stay back in the early 1980s.
Please tell me it's the drugs man.

I'm not really interested in paying $50.00 for their little "expansion".
Two new classes? Some zones and a bit more story? Eh.

Im fairly sure that has to be sarcasm. I can't think of any current game WoW is actually superior to, except possibly eq2. Oh, and shadowbane. WoW > Shadowbane.
I think the expansion looks good. It took too long to release though, I haven't played guildwars in forever. I would have bought this last year. Now? probably not.

its stand alone
and the game is about one year old,
so compared to a subscription model thats less than 5$ per month.
(im getting the collecters edition, i need my plush froggie)

Did they officially mention that the expansion is going to be $50 ?
The expansion to Guild Wars its a stand alone whats that mean??
You don't need the first game to play, and its a lot more worth that buying the WoW expansion plus paying the monthly fee ($15) AND you need the first game so you can play the expansion I wonder which game you said was the little expansion  ?? My pick for the little expansion would be WoW. I wonder with all that income that Blizzard is getting from all players around the world why not they make that expansion a patch of the regular basis they make?
Most likely almost all the things that are putting in that expansion were most of the things that were going to be released it for the upcoming patches, thats curious WoW players are paying for server maintenance and patch contents
BTW to let you guys know, I'm not a fanboy of neither games, both are good games, with their advantages and disadvantages ;) .

Well since there's no monthly fee, they make money from their expansions. Even EQII charges for expansions with no new classes. ;)

New RACES? There are only humans in the gameworld. It wouldn't make sense...
Diablo II expansion had "just" the two new profs and was pretty good.

This is no expansion. You don't need the first to play. It's its own game, but the two games will interoperate.
Still cheaper than one year of another MMO I know of...yada yada yada...blah..blah..blah. ;)

What playable races are there in Guild Wars?
In the first chapter you play characters from the human race. In subsequent chapters of Guild Wars, you may be able to play members of other races.

Depends on what you want. If you enjoy aimlessly running around killing generic monsters in an anime setting, where there really isn't anything unique about it, then Lineage 2 is for you. Its a very generic mmo, but its also very solid. I didn't have any crashes or glitches or anything the whole time I played it. I just got bored fairly quickly. The PvP of lineage 2 was the only bright point in an otherwise blah game, and that aspect of it was very fun. I equate it to DAoC, where the PvE is only a means to the end that is PvP.
If you want to group with 12 year olds and run the same dungeon 50 times to get a pair of boots that you are required to have or your character is "gimped," then boy golly, WoW is the game for you. If you prefer Devs that just tell their players "don't do that" rather than fix game code, then you have an amazing experience waiting for you in WoW. If you enjoy spending months of your time to ultimately make your character 100% identical to other characters of your same race and class, then you need to jump on the thrill fest that is WoW.
New RACES? There are only humans in the gameworld. It wouldn't make sense...
There are Dwarves, actually.
