The Everquest franchise gets 2 expansion packs this week. 1 for each game. Super Monkey Ball hits handhelds with a Nintendo DS version that should be a solid title. And for racing fans, TOCA 3 hits multiple platforms. Lets not forget Fight Night Round 3 as well, which looks drop dead gorgeous on the 360.
Not much on the DVD or theater front.

Did anybody see Domino? Was it any good? It looked kinda cool.

It was in keeping with Tony Scott's later stuff, but really didn't have the chemistry of Man on Fire. That said, Keira Knightley is probably the most gorgeous woman I have ever seen, especially in Domino, there's some good action, some fun characters, and it's definetly worth a rental at least.

Monkey Ball controls pretty well with the touchscreen, until you start monkey race.

Has Galactic Civilizations 2 put out a demo?
Anyone know if they're planning to make one? Because that's a game I'd definitely be interested in picking up.

Anyone see Domino? Is it even remotely worth watching? I try to stay as far away from Tony Scott's movies as possible, but for some reason Domino looks like it might not be total shit.

Domino was the worst movie I saw in theaters all last year. It was really just unbearably bad. Don't waste your time or money on it, don't even rent it. Just... ugh. The worst example of (crappy) style over substance I've seen in quite some time.

I'm all over FN this week. I also might be buying that new Star Wars game on PC. I need something fun to play...it's been a while.

I was interested in buying monkey ball until I watched the videos available... it looks to be about 75% recycled content.

I don't know if there's a demo, but they have a couple videos of in-game action over on the site (www.galciv2.com) (http://www.galciv2.com). You can also pre-install from the preorder and have it ready to go as soon as it's officially released tomorrow morning. You can't play immediately, but you can read through the (rather large) manual to get a handle on the game's setup. I've already done that myself. I'm looking forward to this game greatly.

Yeah, GalCiv2 too for me. TBS 4X FTW. Anything that can take me away from Civ 4 is da winna.
Fight Night Round 3 is been that, done that before affair unless you have the Xbox 360 to see all the graphical splendor. I'm a gameplay person and I'm already bored since FN Round 2.

You know, game wise, I'm sorta interested in MS Saga. I'm a sucker for cheesy RPGs and giant robots with customizable parts. Of course, I'm a bigger sucker for RPGs that aren't cheesy and have giant robots. Mmm...Front Mission....

No way Domino can be worse than Elizabethtown... I rented that for VD and it was so full of bad awkwardly moments. It had neither style nor substance. At least Domino has Mickey Rourke and Miss Knightley...

Galactic Civilizations II for me this week. That will probably be all for some time.
Between Civ IV, Gal Civ II and a few rpg's I have been trying to get to I don't see myself picking up anything else too terribly soon. Maybe something new for the DS.

My g/f made me go watch Elizabethtown when it was released because she could see the town she came from on the big screen. It was by far the worst acting I have ever seen.

Umm... Ultraviolet anyone?
If you're not excited by the trailers, go watch Equilibrium and get back to me (same director). And if you don't like that, well.... you can go to hell and die.
Also, for some reason I think Running Scared looks surprisingly good, I really dig the style they're going for (or maybe I'm just obsessed with Paul Walkers tight ass, either way).

While I do like Equilibrium, Ultraviolet just looks retarded. Might as well name it Generic Sci-Fi Action Movie with Rediculous and Obviously CG Fight Scenes. I could be wrong and I will probably check it out anyway, if it reviews half way decently.

I thought it came out last week. Since Toys'R'Us had it on DVD (and i know since i work there).
And real men watch musicals, South Park was basically a musical and so was Team America (the wonderous musical stylings of AIDS).

I'm going to have to agree with this. Really, I have no choice. My sense of decency demands it. I even got to see it for free in the theatres and I still felt ripped off. Here is half of the movie's dialogue:
"My name is Domino Harvey. I am a bounty hunter."
"50-50."
That said, any movies come out recently that are worth watching? Ultraviolet looks cool if only because Milla Jovovich is in it - and for some reason that girl really gets into her vampire/zombie/video game movie roles.

The commercial I saw for Ultraviolet has the release date listed as Friday March 3rd, Fandango has the same date listed as well. Rotten Tomatoes however has it listed as this Friday. Some strange sneak preview/limited release action going on mayhap?

They are a satire on musicals. Doesn't count as a musical itself when the point of it is to make fun of musicals. :)

If you're not excited by the trailers, go watch Equilibrium and get back to me (same director). And if you don't like that, well.... you can go to hell and die.
Ultraviolet has a couple things going for it:
a) Milla Jovovich has a lot of experience in action roles and should look pretty good doing her stuntwork. Hell, she'll be looking pretty damn good period.
b) Kurt Wimmer is at the helm. The man has a talent for action sequences, and is particularily good at making the best of his low budgets (Equilibrium only had a budget of 20 million, Ultraviolet only has one of 30 million, approximately). The only downside so far is the CGI.
c) Any Equilibrium fans will be happy to know Wimmer expanded his "gun kata" martial arts for this film.
My verdict: A light movie with a paper thin plot, corny dialogue, obvious CGI, and kickass action. The fact that it is PG-13 almost gurantees the plot to be dumb as paint. I'll see it.

I'm really looking forward to TOCA 3. I'm interested to see the changes in this version. Nothing is better then using either the hoodview or interior view on a nice big widescreen TV. Really puts you into it.

Sounds like a TV Funhouse skit. They could have it in response to Ahnold phone message kinda things.
"Who are you?"
"My name is Domino Harvey. I am a bounty hunter."
"Who is your daddy, and what does he do?"
"My name is Domino Harvey. I am a bounty hunter."
"Shut up you idiot!"
"50-50."
"You son of a bitch!"
Anyway, I couldn't get past the stupid voice/accent that was put on in the trailers, so I didn't bother watching it.
And that's my contribution.

That's what I've heard. I'm still going to rent it though and give it a looksie. I need to see the actual show sometime - I had a chance in Lincoln but I missed it. I will see Wicked this summer in MPLS though. I just need to get my lazy ass up and buy tickets.
