Here's a little article I found at TGDaily.com for the upcoming Console Wars. IMO it's a fanboy pointing fingers at fanboys...

If you did jump over people in the squash to get an Xbox 360 at some extortionist forced-bundle price from one of the ever opportunistic retailers then, this year at least, you didn't pay to be ahead of the curve; you paid for the big bully Microsoft to be poised to kick the PS3 around the football field.

That guy is a controversist. I've only read three pieces by him, but each take a simple point and expand it to stir up trouble for no real reason.

Yeah, it is a pretty odd article. It's like saying "Hey! Look! I think this building is gonna catch fire! Don't pour any gas on it! It might burn down!" When there is no one there who really wants to burn down the building. Weird.

I have a question. How is this:

I find that the best way to avoid becoming embroiled in the likes of the upcoming fan boy war is to simply ignore it altogether. If you have an Xbox 360, buy whatever good games come out for it. If you're a Playstation fan, read the PS3 previews. If you're undecided, wait a while.

fanboyish in any way? I mean, seriously, what about that particular statement in the article seems like its a fanboy screaming or trying to stir up trouble? For that matter, how is this one fanboyish?

Maybe I'm just deeply cynical but I don't really care about what Microsoft says their console can do and Sony's can't, or vice versa. It's about whether or not they have decent games; they arrive to market promptly and at an affordable price. The rest is just chaff for which we would do best to avoid. We'll all get our consoles, and saying the one that the other guy has is worse than yours isn't going to improve your experience.

I think people are being way too sensitive about this stuff.

I found the article fairly moderate. He largely stuck to his point that console wars are just a load of hot air not worth our time. He's right on that note, IMHO.

The only two bits that could even be construed as fanboy was the quoted 'help MS kick PS3 around the football field'. Which, personally I would say is incorrect, some people just want that new, kickass console. I know many non-fanboys who just bought 360 because it excited them. But, whatever, that's not exactly a 'mud-in-your-face' comment worth digging into.

The only other thing was the mention of practicing for the Revolution because it's "innovative" instead of having "flashier graphics". Which I think is a null point, if Nintendo wants sales from people who are interested in graphics more than gameplay, they'll have to fight for that market share just as much as MS or Sony. Which is not to say that Nintendo's not targetting a wider marketshare and pushing the envolope, they are, and I'm glad to see that. Just that you can't pretend we're talking about two vastly different markets here. It's more a proverbial line drawn in the sand between the types of games you'll see between consoles. I don't think you can simply classify the Xbox and Playstations as being redundant in their target market and write them off elsewhere. The Xbox has vastly changed the online/multiplayer gaming landscape for consoles, which is a focus neither Sony or Nintendo were giving it.

I think all three consoles have their particular strengths, but what we're seeing this time around is consolidation of those features as each company looks at their competition and starts trying to copy what works (whether or not they publicly admit it or not). Which really is a win-win situation for the consumers all around, despite which console you buy!

dear god, that article was boring and contained no usefull information at all, not even an "interesting opinion".

eth3rton, I don't mean to be rude, but if you post an article by Aaron McKenna again I will have to fucking stab you in the eyes.

I read the article but it didn't even have a hint of fanboyism or even Evilavatar news worthy.

Yeah, that's another weird thing. Sometimes they are stirring, other times they are trying to be neuteral.

Why is this EvAv news?
Oh, ok so it's like when we hear about killer bunnies from Equador on the local news because no one's killed each other that day.

I think this whole fucking fanboy shit is so lowminded and idiotic. My money goes where the best games are, that's it. I dislike Sony due to their business practices and DRM on everything, I dislike Microsoft due to their monopolistic practices, I don't really have anything against Nintendo now, but only because they lost the ability to trample the consumer when they lost a lot of their market share.

They are all after my money, a blind fanboy is a blind consumer and blind consumers are little more than sheep.
