DJ Hero competitor, Scratch: The Ultimate DJ, isn't out yet... but looks to be bringing more of a "realistic" DJ experience to gaming. Today, they've released a new video showing off how the new game deck compares to professional equipment. During the video, they even say that you'll be able to transfer your skills over to a real setup... and then follow that up with a shot at Activision's game by saying "Making hip hop music takes more than just a turntable and crossfader..."

Click the headline to check out the video, and be on the lookout today for our DJ Hero Review.

Want to like. Want these guys to do well.
The crossfader action just seemed manic.

Yeah that cross fader looks horrible.

Meh, I want this to be good, but with them focusing so much on the hardware at every turn and less and less on the game and tracklist (which last time I checked was composed of a whole 12 songs >_< most of which were forgettable at best), it makes me wonder if it'll be even remotely worthwhile.

I'm really skeptical about the gameplay on this one. The controller vid cuts back and forth a lot between the actual controller and real DJ setups, almost like it's trying to purposely confuse the viewer. And in actual gameplay vids released so far, the game doesn't look nearly as compelling as DJ Hero, rather it looks more like a standard button tapper like Beatmania:
