In Sonic Riders, Dr. Eggman challenges Sonic and his friends to a Worldwide Grand Prix, and the prize for coming out on top is an ultra-rare Chaos Emerald! Gliding on air boards gamers will experience a heightened sense of Extreme sports-style racing tension as Sonic and his pals perform tricks and stunts over treacherous wide-open terrain.
A mere few days before its launch WorthPlaying (http://www.worthplaying.com) has a go at the multiplayer options in SEGA's Sonic Riders, here is a snip :
Boosting is self-explanatory, but know that it requires air to use. The higher your level, the longer you will stay in accelerated Boost mode. While in Boost mode, you will automatically attack any character you can come in close proximity to. Use this knowledge to become unpredictable, by boosting while off your prey’s radar, and then taking them out near the end of your Boost mode time. Any character that’s successfully attacked will suffer a number of effects, from losing their air, to losing their speed, to being knocked all the way back down to level 1 (ouch!).Check the complete Sonic Riders multiplayer preview (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=31869) over at WorthPlaying.

I wonder who the hell at SEGA sits down and suggests stuff like "Ok, I think we need another Sonic racing game. Wouldn't it be cool if he used a hoverboard."
Can I get a Sonic CD port already.

Errr... it's on Sonic Gems Collection. Which has been out quite a while. On Cube, XBox, and PS2. :p

Yeah, I read a little bit about that. But I get the feeling that they had messed the port up in some way.
Apparently the Japanese soundtrack was better or something, but they kept the English soundtrack for the port. Though I can't imagine the English version being anything but good, since it was composed by Nielsen.

Sega, please stop. You suck at everything now. We're getting to the point where people hear the word "Sega" and they run screaming.

Why is it that every time Worthplaying posts a preview of a game, they completely ignore the fact that the game is also coming out for GameCube. It always says "PS2/Xbox". Never Cube. Show us some love, here, people.
Not that I ever cared about Worthplaying's opinion on things, though.

The preview was based on playing the PS2 and Xbox versions of the game, we don't even know what online/multiplayer support the Gamecube has, if any at all. Most companies do not even bother to send out Gamecube builds, or review code for that matter, thus less coverage.
If you checked any other of the Sonic Riders articles, Gamecube is included every single time.

You know what. Sega have released some fantastic games in the past few years, just because they don't know how to handle the Sonic franchise it doesn't mean they suck. Have you played Panzer Dragoon Orta, Outrun 2, Condemned (Monolith developed I know, but still under the Sega banner) Virtua Fighter, Virtua Tennis, Monkey Ball, Football Manager, you getting the picture?

Did any of those come out after the Sega/Sammy fiasco? And did Sega actually DEVELOP all those games? I doubt it.

As far as I'm aware, Football Manager is the only other game on that list that wasn't developed by Sega.
I was simply pointing out the flawed reasoning, I certainly don't mind you saying that the Sonic franchise sucks now, in fact I'd be inclined to agree but if there was no Sega I doubt any of the great games on that list (bar the two externally developed games) would've seen the light in the form that they were in.
