TeamXbox (http://www.teamxbox.com/) has posted a video (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/10275/TOCA-Race-Driver-3s-Damage-Engine-In-Action/) showing off TOCA Race Driver 3’s Terminal Damage Engine. Here's a bit from about the Terminal Damage Engine...

The additional particle effects highlight the punishment cars receive: sparks fly spectacularly when cars bottom out and end up grounding the car. Players will witness windshields shatter, wings get ripped off, and spoilers break and fly from the car. Plus, new game effects will show incremental amounts of damage as bodywork realistically deforms around crumple zones during a race.

Release Date: 02/21/2006 (PC (http://www.gametab.com/pc/toca.race.driver.3/5120/), XBOX (http://www.gametab.com/xbox/toca.race.driver.3/5121/), PS2 (http://www.gametab.com/ps2/toca.race.driver.3/5122/))

There were a few memorable crashes with nice effects but it didn't really make me any more interested in the title. Your thoughts?

This game is known as V8 Supercars 3 througout Australasia. Played a demo, seems like a racing fan's dream. About 30 differant kids of racing types and they all seemed to handle realisticly.

Having good physical damage for cars will do one thing that I have been hoping for in racing games for a while. It will prevent you from using other cars as padding for taking a corner at high speeds.

I've played both demos available and I'm very impressed by it. This extra dimension to damage gives the cars a feeling of weight, rather than floating around a track. Hit a wall and they don't bounce off (cough GT4) but instead crumple and body panels are torn off.

It adds extra tension to multiplayer too, one player may shoot off at the start and then overcook his engine, leading him to retire. Like GameFreaks said, it's a racing fan's dream, and I'm a racing fan.

The game's graphics look rather washed out and detailless to me, but it maybe worth picking up to have a good simish racer. Is it like a GT4 or more like... I don't know one of those really realistic sims?

GT4 is like a pansy compared to the Toca series. It's real racing, with more than 6 cars on track.

I'm probably biased but I've played all the GT series and all the Toca series and I prefer Toca. It can either be super realistic like GTR or have more of an arcade feel allowing you to really throw the cars about.

It will prevent you from using other cars as padding for taking a corner at high speeds.

Especially in multiplayer where people DO that; only now they'll be punished for it with the built in flag and rule enforcement system.

i really loved TOCA 2 and completed the singelplayer campain, im definitely go to by TOCA 3. i can only recommend playing TOCA og GTR with a Wheel, joypad og keybord is not precise enough IMO.

Logitech MOMO Racing , a great wheel compared to price

I really loved FlatOut, and originally bought it because I loved the destructibility and physics of both the environment and the vehicles. (Rag doll games were fun too :)

I've never really given the Toca series much of a look, but seeing as it has so much variety (lawnmower racing? how could you not love that?), I'll consider picking it up if it receives good reviews.

I'd be interested if it came out for the 360. My PC is a bit underpowered for this game.
