ControllerFreaks (http://microsoft.controllerfreaks.com/article.asp?ArtID=147) has an exclusive Q&A up for Battlefield: Modern Combat for the XBox 360. CF got a chance to chat with Jeff Gamon, Executive Producer about the game.

Q. Besides the graphical jump, what distinct features will the 360 version have over the Xbox and PS2 versions? Features that would give the gamer a reason to purchase the game even though he or she already owns it on the Xbox or PS2.

A. All of the assets were rebuilt for Xbox 360, and the single player campaign was re-tooled mission by mission to make it an even better experience. We also include a new feature that lets you turn any individual part of the HUD on or off. So you could have a full readout, or the parts you choose to keep, or a completely clean screen. This was in direct response to community requests to eliminate the red diamonds above enemy heads, we just made everything fully customizable. So while we aren’t trying to mislead anyone into thinking this is a completely new title, we definitely spent a lot of time thinking of ways to make this the best Battlefield 2: Modern Combat experience available.
Lots of hype around this one lately.

Indeed.

The hype is strong with this one.

What I want to know is simply whether or not the game will have a mode for playing with your friends online. And by that I mean my FRIENDS, not people who MS decides to call my friends but who are actually just inoffensive strangers. IOW, will there be a private game setting? Or will this be like COD2 and Full Auto and just leave that option out. Lately it seems like the games on LIVE! are going backwards in terms of features....

Wait, full auto has a game hosting option I thought. I read the article about it as well as seen the video preview, you can invite as well as kick people. I have yet to play it so I cannot confirm that, but if full auto is like cod2 I will stay far away.
I will get bf2 though, I missed it for the pc.

Game hosting yes. The ability to host for your friends (instead of just random asshats off the street) NO. Or at least not that I can find.

There appears to be a way to kick players, but who wants to spend all night kicking out asshats? Why have a friends list if you cannot have private games???

I might be reading this the wrong way, but when you turn of the red diamonds on your HUD, the others can still see them, can't they? So while you can't see them, they can still see you?

I don't get the hype. Except for the graphics and maybe some minor tweaks, it's the same game that was released for Xbox and PS2. Now if they could fix the crashes when trying to go online, I might give it another try.

Son, I'd imagine fixes like that go without saying.
