I'm trying to get a reading on whether a new site I'm spending all my time working on is even of any interest to anyone:

1. Anyone can create a page (called a Dojo) about any video game content, you can include text, pictures, video, yadda yadda.
2. We serve ads on all site pages.
3. As the page creator (Sensei), you get 50% of all ad revenue from the dojo.

Then there's community features slated for later, so things like creating "friends" and messaging and arranging times to play EVE Online at the same time or who knows.

Does that sound cool, idiotic, or meh?

Welp... your idea is OK but there's some issues with it. First and biggest issue, how do you go about doling out ad revenue to the people on the site? Second, I know this isn't too big of a problem, there are other sites that already do the wiki style game pages (Giant Bomb).

Hmm - thanks for the feedback. The ad revenue thing is basically just a Google Ad split for now - put in your Google publisher ID, and we rotate which ID is used for ad display at a 50% split.

As for Giant Bomb, I don't think it's exactly the same. I mean it's a gaming database type site yeah, but do you get to "own" a term and make money from it? I'm hoping that's the major hook...
