Stargate Worlds Q&A

Gamergod (http://www.gamergod.com/) has posted a Q&A (http://www.gamergod.com/article.php?article_id=3834) with the developers of the MMOPRG Stargate Worlds.

This wide-open approach bodes well for the depth of the game development and the replay ability of the game over time. From crafting and construction to ground and space-based combat and everything in between, the game features are grand in scope.

Im a big fan of stargate, could be quite an interesting game. From the sounds of it, it would be quite different than whats on the market. I hope they are able to implement their ideas correctly though.

Well "Galaxies" had the Star Wars name going for it, and was produced by one of the more experienced MMORPG makers and yet it really bore no resemblance to Star Wars in the end.

Unfortunately I think there will be a great use of the ignore list in this mmo. I believe it will feature much of the MxO fiascos of dumbasses running around the in game events yelling obscene things at the Niobe avatar. Imagine hundreds of immature folk jumping back and forth through the gate, running to crew quarters yelling obscene things to Carter.

If this game actually gets made I will be completely surprised, but surprised in a satisfying way. All do to the fact that no Stargate game to date has yet to penetrate into existence, of course. And these guys may be biting into a bit too much with the concepts they want to attempt.

Eh... experience isn't everything. SoE has yet to produce something that doesn't suck, IMO. Galaxies was actually their best effort, before completly fucking it with various "upgrades" over this past year or so. EQ, EQII, Planetside... they all felt unpolished and generic to me.

I have serious doubts about this Stargate MMO. I'm not saying it couldn't be good, but I don't see how it could be accurate to the Stargate universe. That's not a big deal, I don't really expect it to be accurate, fun is the big factor for me. Make it fun, and I'll play.
