IGN (http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/760/760830/vids_1.html) has the official trailer up for Burnout Revenge for the XBox 360. There is an HD version available for subscribers.
I didn't play Revenge on the XBox/PS2. Anyone care to mention how this looks in comparison?

I've watched the HD footage on Gamespot, and one thing that caught my eye was that it looks so much easier to spot cars up ahead, compared to the PS2 version I've played, and therefor making the game even more playable.

The graphics in comparison to the Xbox version are noticeably better. They're not a quantum leap or anything like that, but the game is definitely prettier in HD.

Will Burnout Revenge 360 be able to play with Burnout Revenge Xbox on Live? That would be most excellent. Which means that EA probably won't do it.

It looks better, but not $60 better (I own the Xbox version). The current gen versions look really good.

I agree. I am playing through Revenge right now on the XBOX. From a technical and gameplay standpoint it is the best in the series. The one complaint I do have is where has all the racing gone? Modes like traffic check and road rage and so on are nice, but the races are all of those modes combined. The races are what makes this game so good. But unfortunately it seems as though the actual races are out numbered at least three to one compared with the other modes.
Also, I am still a little lukewarm on traffic checking. I like the idea, but I wish it was not enabled in every event. It certainly has taken away some of the challenge and sense of danger because you are now essentially safe if you stay on the right side of the road. However, those hardly detract from the intense feeling that the Burnout games provide.

Yes, the draw-in is the most significant difference. The graphics look better in HD as well.
What we can't see yet, but what will hopefully improve greatly is how quickly/easily multiplayer maps connect/work.

The races are what makes this game so good.
Is it possible you're in the minority on that issue? I haven't played Revenge yet (I decided to hold out until either a) it's $20 or b) I pick up a 360 later this year) but in Takedown I was all about the Road Rage events. The races tended - apart from completing all the challenge goals - to feel too easy at times because, well, I've raced in many games over the years. On the other hand, the Road Rage events had the forced proximity of enemy cars either closing in from behind or appearing ahead constantly. I loved that...

Yes, the road rage events are great. However, I prefere the races because they more or less combine all of the different event types into one absolutely batshit crazy free for all. For me, the separate events feel too stripped down.
In revenge, Eliminator is where it is at. It is a race mode where last place is destroyed when the timer runs down. I am just past halfway through the game, and it the challenge is already ramping up. It is an intense feeling when there are only two cars left and you are doing everything you can to stay ahead of the last rival until the timer runs out for the final time.
Crashbreaker races are also amazing. When you crash or are taken out you have the ability to unleash a crashbreaker. The size of the explosion is based on how much boost you have stored. On several occasions I have literally cleared a six lane highway in the middle of a race, taking out not just every single opponent, but also every traffic vehicle that was unlucky enough to be passing me buy. It is basically all the mayhem of Crash mode but in the middle of a race.

stubbs - I don't know what you are talking about. . . for every bit of track in the game (of which there are many), there is a race event. It's just that there are a LOT of other events types too. Plus there is the Grand Prix event that is really just a bunch of races in a row.
They could have made the game just races and not had the other stuff, but without more tracks, there couldn't be more races.
Anyway, I think you are being too picky. Whatever system you use, Burnout is one of the greatest games like ever.
