In addition, you'll be able to use your already downloaded content within LEGO Rock Band. Fans can extend their LEGO Rock Band experience on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with downloadable content that can be purchased through the LEGO Rock Band store. Players will have access to all of the songs in the Rock Band Music Store that have been identified to be suitable for all ages. Those cleared songs are the only tracks that will appear within the LEGO Rock Band store for purchase. The LEGO Rock Band store will continually highlight any new family-friendly tunes that can be played across the Rock Band platform as they are released for Rock Band.

Disc export will rely on the technology pioneered by Harmonix to export tracks from the original Rock Band disc to the music library of Rock Band 2. Owners of LEGO Rock Band on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be able to enter a unique code from an insert in their game manual into a dedicated website. The website will provide instructions allowing owners to unlock the export functionality of LEGO Rock Band. At that point, players will be able to export tracks from LEGO Rock Band to their hard drives for play in all game modes of the Rock Band Music Platform for a nominal export fee of $9.99 (800 Microsoft Points). An internet connection is required to perform this disc export.

LEGO Rock Band combines the multiplayer music experience of Rock Band with the fun, customization and humor of the LEGO videogame franchise to create a unique family-friendly music experience that allows tweens, teens and parents to experience a wild journey to rock stardom where they can “Build a Band and Rock the Universe.” Players will become rockers as they work their way through local venues, stadiums and fantasy locations on Earth and beyond that mimic the imaginative settings that the LEGO world offers. Also continuing the LEGO “build-and-play” gaming experience, gamers can create their own LEGO Rock Band style as they customize their minifigure avatars, band and entourage, including roadies, managers and crew. LEGO Rock Band is compatible with all Rock Band and The Beatles™: Rock Band™ instrument controllers, as well as most Guitar Hero® and other authorized third-party music video game peripherals and microphones.

LEGO Rock Band for Xbox 360®, PlayStation 3 and Wii™ system is rated “E 10+” by the ESRB and is developed by TT Games in partnership with Harmonix. The Nintendo DS version is rated “E” by the ESRB and is developed by Backbone Entertainment, a Foundation 9 Entertainment studio, and will be compatible with Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS™ Lite and Nintendo DSi™. All versions are scheduled for release holiday 2009.

It makes more sense than Band Hero... at least this allows you to play as something different and has some new features.

Rock Band is a platform indeed. I'll definitely be picking up this game down the road and exporting the tracks. I love HMX!

It's early in the thread but I am going to say yes you are the only one. I may be proved wrong. :)

As the release says, this is a more family friendly release but since you can export the songs WHO CARES?

So long as the price is far for what you are getting I see this as a good song pack update. Also if my nieces and nephews come over and they are under age and innocent I can bust this out and let them play some songs and not have to worry about any suggestive images that may not be suitable for them.

Mine is pre-ordered, my boy will love playing on LRB instead of RB2. The tracklist for me is a real suprise. This for me is a better track list than GH5! So varied and is bringing in a lot of bands that aren't on the RB platform.

One of my favorite parts is playing doll dress up with my rocker. The lego characters in lego games look LAME.

Legos are not rock and roll. They are pop rock at best.

My mom tried to shelter me from watching MTV videos, and I resent her for it lol. Let the little rascals see guys stroking the mic stand, why pretend this world they live in is different than reality.

The only thing that's retarded is how much I enjoy music/rhythm games. I think it's a really good move on the companies' part to do a "Kidz Bop" version of a big video game trend. Some of these songs will be really fun, too.

I know it says Lego RB gets access to the family-friendly fare in the RB store but I am honestly hoping the functionality "extends" the other way as well--I want to see my little Lego band jamming out the Behemoth and Cannibal Corpse DLC I have!

They keep saying the content in the store is limited to E-rated content. Does that mean that if you have, say, Big Bottom already downloaded, you'd be able to play it in Lego RB?

$50 + $10 is a tad much for my taste though. I only want about a dozen of those songs.

Well the entire plastic instrument genre is for rock star wannabe's, what's so bad about appealing to a younger audience? (Though they probably already play RB and GH anyway...)

I find it weird that the song Monster is going to be on this, considering it's about substance abuse O_o

Is it just me, or does that list look like teh track list for a typical GH game?

and what the hell: Jimi Hendrix, “Fire”

??? I though Activision had an exclusive on Hendrix! Could this be true? I might buy the game for that song alone (Cause honestly the rest are too poppy for me). For fuck's sake hook us up on the marketplace!

I though Activision had an exclusive on Hendrix!Third party exclusives don't mean shit anymore. It's all time-limited at best.

third party exclusives are when companies not directly related to the console makers make a game exclusive for their console. This is not a case of a 'third party exclusive'.

just a definition of terms for you.

but sweet, Hendrix finally in RB where he belongs.

Oh thank jeebus. Anyone who has ever tried to entice a girlfriend, sister, or non-rock enthusiast to help fill out a full quartet has searched for some "songs they know" on the tracklist in vain.

Lord, I was so tired of playing nothing but Maps and Swing, Swing.

just a definition of terms for you.Did it never occur to you that I might already know the difference, or does pedantry just kill at your parties?

It's the same economic question with the same unsurprising answer.

I really like this tracklist, and as net7runner said, there are more songs that the wife knows so I don't have to have MaaaAAAAaaaaAAAAaaaAApppPss WAIT! ringing back and forth thru my skull.

This is a win/win for me. I will play it (and the boy will play it) for the Achievements and then for a small fee I can import a ton of extra music into Rock Band 2. As long as you don't pay full price for the disc it is a great deal.

Wait for that GoGamer 48 Hour Madness sale. :)
