At first that seemed like a retarded deal, but for about 33 bucks a pop, that doesn't sound too bad to me. Granted there's no way I would buy two copies, let alone three or four, but I'm sure there's some people out there who are really really good friends.

Darnit, me and my friends just preordered it a few days ago. I wish they had done this a few weeks ago like L4D2. A well.
Steam just made 2x 4pack sales with me. I love co-op shootery goodness.

Although I think it's smart to have such a promotion, I think 10% off is a pretty lousy deal for potentially wrangling 3 other people into the game. I think it'd have been smarter to go at least 20% off, would significantly increase the chance of getting 4 RL friends into the game, which seems the goal.

It's an individual cost of $33.25. That's a hefty, hefty discount over the retail box of $60. That's a grand total 44.58% off. And also 33% off the Direct Download price, and also 26% less than the already 10% discounted price of 44.95. So, if you wanted at least 20% off, I'd say you've gotten your wish, GO PREORDER IT NOW! :)

Retail price is not $60, PC!=console, and retail!=online. Again, I think 10% off is not particularly enticing for a 4 unit purchase. It's the type of game that seems to shine better if you can get 4 people into it, so I'd have tried harder to make that happen, is all. Regardless of how you attempt to massage the numbers, it's still 10% off for getting 3 others in, but if it works for you, then enjoy.

$50, the normal price of the game, - $33.75, the price one person pays in this 4 pack, = $16.25, the total discount.
16.25/50 = 33%, the total percentage of discount. AKA, you pay ONE THIRD LESS by buying the 4 pack pre-order. That is far, far more than 10% off.

He wasn't looking at the math you are looking at which puts the 4 pack at 75% of what you would pay if you bought 4 individual copies. So, essentially it seems like a buy 3, get 1 free deal.

No, no, you're right, my bad. I'd misread one of the other links discussing it, I read 10% off as the pre-order discount as the 4-pack discount. Think I need more sleep or more caffeine :).

Even the regular 4 pack price comes out to $37.50 a copy before the discount, a making it some $12.50 off--already a 25% discount off the regular $50 direct download cost.
It's okay, he just didn't want to do the math right then, we all been there.

It's a poorly worded press release for a good deal of buying 4 copies of the game.
Now if we could just get a discount like this for the 360 version...
