Didnt know it was on the 360, does this mean pc and xbox players will be playing on the same servers?
Didnt know it was on the 360, does this mean pc and xbox players will be playing on the same servers?
As I recall they've said that they were going to try and do that, but who knows if that will really be in there.
GOTDAMN. I just looked at the screens, this looks even better thna anything they've released before.
If this is what we can expect from UE3, the future looks realllll bright for GoW, UT2K7 and hell, even Frame City Killer. I'll probably pass out by the time any gameplay videos come out from holding my breath.

ooh please let me fight 360 ppl =D mouse+keyboard >>> controller for an fps :P
I'm waiting for someone to do the mmofps right.... very cool concept, hell and a half to get right though... You deal with one of the largest problems plaguing mmo combat, side imbalance. Because your invested in your character you dont just log on and fight on whoevers side is outnumbered. You can enforce char creation per side but then you end up with the social problem, ie. I cant play with my friends unless I camp the char creation till it lets me on their side. This leaves you with instancing, however by instancing you lose a true persistant world (i.e Eve Online*). Then you have the other problem... how do you make an fps fun enough to keep people invested for years in a battle that can never really be won ?:P
With the MMO market currently expanding rapidly a good mmofps I think could carve a nice niche out. It represents something that someone can jump in and play for a short or long period of time. I personally have time to spend doing things like molten core, but I honestly hate the obligation. I find I want to play 100% by my schedule and never have the game demand I log on, either through game mechanics (honor decay) or player obligations (stable raid environment)... but that's a different topic and i'm rambling :P
EDIT* as in Eve represents an excellent persistant world... err.. galaxy.... I fail at getting a point accross clearly...

they better not screw this one up. I'm really looking forward to some positive and constructive previews, not hype.

I'm really pumped about this game, but I wish it was coming out at the same time for the PC and the 360. I'd rather buy it for the 360, but IIRC it doesn't come out for the 360 until at least a few months after the PC.
I'd buy it for the PC, but my specs are starting to show their age and the newer games are really taxing my system.

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.

Any chance the Xbox Live Gold membership covers this game? I naturally assume there will be a fee of some sort and there is no clear answer yet. Of course I'll ask anyway heh.

If it's the difference of only a few months, and your rig ain't kicking it no mo' why not wait? I suppose you could always get both if you really wanted, but there should be plenty to keep you occupied with the 360 in the meantime.

So UE3 games, the characters, is it required for them to wear giant armor, or is it just recomended?

You know I noticed that too, I wonder if the giant armour thing is some sort of compromise like it was in Fable. In that game the characters could vary greatly in size and shape, so to save time on modeling they made all the armour and clothing X-Large so they would fit any character.

I don't know why this phrase popped in my head just now but...
The clone wars begun they have.
I think we're going to be in for a lot of games sharing that inbred look for lack of a better word (with regards to the Unreal technology titles coming out).

Well, I'm hoping the difference is only a few months, as the release dates are pretty fluid for both (end '06 for PC, beginning of '07 for 360), so it could end up being a much bigger difference.
Either way, this game better be friggin' sweet, I have been waiting for a good MMOFPS since Planetside (which is a great game, but doesn't have the normal staying power of most MMOGs.)

Can you imagine this game with the number of players you see in WoW, or even GW towns? I would imagine it would lag quite badly, regardless of what platform you're running it on.
But it does look sweeeeeeeeeeet.

What are you talking about, last I heard this game was still scheduled for 06 for 360, where did you hear differently?

In one of the previews someone said that combat takes places in "instances", with a smaller number of players, so less lag I guess, it sounds a little like GW.

Screenies look great.
Why do screenshots on worthplaying always open in these miniscule windows though?

So that's what it was. I saw a picture of some girl wearing really weird-looking yellow body armor, so it's from this game.

If this is how it will look in game I will be very impressed.
The MMOFPS is a cool concept I hope this follows through with what it promises.

The game looks great, my only worry is that it will take the root of many of the other korean mmorpg´s and skimp on the content.
An online frag fest is all good and well, but i like something deeper in my mmorpg´s, incuding some good quests and lore. I hope Huxley dilivers that.

Too many game developers these days watched Starship Troopers, Anime, and played Starcraft.
Seriously though, the game looks pretty good. It'll sit somewhere on my anticipated list below Rise of Legends and Supreme Commander.

This game looks good, it actually looks too good. I doubt more then a dozen characters can be on the screen at once before modest systems start slowing down. Its always been a problem in MMO's and it sounds like their way of dealing with it is to not make it an MMO but instead use instances.
I wonder what their max player count is. If its less then UT2k7, I really don't see a reason to play this game for its FPS gameplay. Hopefully it will bring something new to the genra which will make it worth a monthly fee.
