It is a bit too 'zombie' and not enough 'crazy' to call it a remake.

The one great thing about all the crappy remakes is that usually they mean a (re)release of the original on DVD. The Crazies has been out of print for a while.

Nice try, Mad World, I'm not seeing this movie.

Looks pretty cool. Sort of what Crossed would be if it was a movie and not a comic...although pretty tame compared to the comic.

I wonder if it was a choice between Mad World and Let the Bodies Hit the Floor.

I actually thought that looked pretty good and I'm not a "horror movie" fan.
But it could have just been the way the trailer was cut. I agree that the Mad World thing was an awful and stupid choice. Especially hte way it starts like halfway through the trailer.

i agree the original was just a bunch of people going crazy but they seem to think that just because its a romero film it has to have some sort of mutated things in it. im still going to watch it anyway though.

Looks like it's worth a watch -- but after that trailer I think I've seen the whole thing now.

Shame, too. I liked Tears for Fears when I was in the teenage portion of this life.
Of course, now they're touring as well. Another shame....

Even a bigger shame since that version of the song isn't by Tears for Fears.

It's the Gary Jules version made for Donnie Darko, it kinda became the default version since it was considered more "edgy" by some. They also really hacked the song up to try and make it fit the trailer better, but ended up making it just sound weird if you've heard the song before.
Movie looks like it might be okay, but suffers from that "been there, done that" problem most remakes of older movies have, since the ideas that were fresh at the time have since been ripped off by countless other movies.

Yes, I suppose I should have ID'd the fact that I liked the original version by TFF much better than Gary Jules....

Wait, what? I bought it last year, and it's still up on Amazon right now.
