Garnett Lee Joins ShackNews

1Up Veteran and Listen Up! Host Garnett Lee has decided to take up a position at the recently acquired ShackNews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/60653) (GameFly). He's going to be the "Editorial Director" whatever that means.

"I am delighted to join GameFly," said Lee. "I've had an amazing time at 1UP during which I've had the opportunity to run all the different individual elements of the content package--news, previews, reviews, video, and managing editor. Coming to GameFly gives me a chance to put everything I've learned together."

Where did you source this from? If you check ShackNews it does say he plans to develop a podcast right in the article... That should be good news since he was (usually) the voice of reason on the 1up podcasts.

Garnet is topical, but I don't know about "voice of reason".

For example, he persisted at lenght a suggestion for Zenimax for Fallout 4 to return to the isometric turn based model of 1 and 2. That's just crazy talk.

Sometimes his podium stuff is just asinine.

I'll listen wherever he goes, but I hope John Davison shows up on that podcast, too. I'll keep ListenUp on my download list, but I'll probably just space out when it's playing (like with RebelFM).

Well... I guess voice of reason is in comparison to the rest of the guys on the show. Yeah, he can jump on his podium for some pretty crazy stuff. I'll agree that I hope John Davidson shows up on a podcast with him, they worked well together.

Well I always enjoyed him on the 1UP podcast. It will be a different show now that he is gone. I still hope its enjoyable.

He always seemed like the guy that got invited because he brought the 80 proof beverages. Can't write, poor vocabulary, poor memory, poor knowledge of games let alone anything else.

Totally disagree with you. Garnett Lee made that show what it is (or was, really). It takes a shitload of work to put something like that together on an ongoing basis, and he drove it.
