...suck ass. I went from seconds to 3-5min load times when I switched from Vista to 7. Mozilla knows about it and is working on it but my God. They had the time to fix this shit before and didn't. Anyone else having this problem with FF 3.5+?

I have Windows 7 64 bit and use Firefox 3.5.3, it loads as fast as it did in XP and Vista...

Right after I made this post FF and IE stopped working completely. They say they are connecting and eventually time out. I know its not my connection since I can login on my EQ2 account. This is the only problem I am having with Win7 right now. It is fast and the whole UI is slick.

Let me guess, you 'upgraded' to Win7 by installing OVER Vista?

I ran the RC over top of 32bit Vista Ultimate.

The issue is that you went the upgrade route. Never, ever, upgrade an OS. Always do a fresh install, otherwise you run into issues like this. I run Windows 7 RC on two different machines (My home PC and my work laptop) and I have had no problems with it at all. In fact, with my work laptop, it runs better than Vista ever did on it.

I will if I find some time this weekend. Fortunately this is a work laptop and I don't have a lot on it. I usually do full fresh installs but I thought I could take the short cut.

Glad to know I'm not the only one that thought the load times in FF seemed to suck on Win7 64. Takes almost 15-20secs sometimes. Not always though. Will try to reinstall FF tomorrow. Fresh install here btw.

Mine works fine.

The only problem I seem to have is my browser freezing randomly when trying to load a page or having it open with to many tabs and it lags like ass.

Windows 7 64-bit install in bootcamp on my Mac runs great.

In FF make sure it's not one of your extensions causing delays.

I had to constantly reset IE8 as it took ages to load up, I then discovered what the problem was. Spybot Search and Destroy, a program I love and have used for years does not like the new setup of windows. Maybe a program like this is messing your Firefox up. I use it on mine and have no problems with it so it might be that.

I will try and get rid of Spybot S&D. I remember version 162 gave Vista fits so I ran 160 for the longest.

Okay the saga continues...I used Windows Backup and backed everything up on my Vista Home Prem laptop before a clean install of 7. After the clean install the back up only restored files and no apps, says it skipped all apps for no reason. Now FF3.5.x is even slower then before. Most pages time out and won't load. The pages that do load take 5-7min each to load, I timed it due to bordem. I will be going back to Vista today. It worked. Sadly the 7 RC worked good for awhile other then stupid slow browsing. The RTM was shit. I haven't had problems before with Windows OS's like I have had with 7. I even got ME to work with no issues.

I did an upgrade on my home PC and a fresh install on my work PC. Both work flawlessly.

Except I get blue screens in a couple of older (2 y.o) games, but I'm sure this will be fixed at some point with better drivers.

As far as your problem goes, it's deteriorating, so just do a fresh reinstall, don't pretend your new to the windows scene.
