Seriously, no other company in history has had this many stroke-fests BEFORE THE LAUNCH OF ANY PRODUCT WHATSOEVER! Does Sigil have a huge warehouse full of developers somewhere in India/China/Eastern Europe actually making their game while these guys caravan around from 'con to 'con to wallow in gladhanding and soak up dork adulation like Stewart Smally's +3 Sponge of Self Affirmation?

Hate to break it to you Red, but 50k isn't even a squirt out the ol' MMO urethra. If they get only that many users when they go live, Vanguard is going to die faster than a Korean cybercafe' patron on his 99th straight hour of WoW. Even lowly EVE has 100k subscribers and that game has infinitesimal overhead compared to the vast expanses of bump-mapped sterility that is V:SoH.

Vanguard has promise, but I'm really not sure how well it'll do. It has no real big name attached to it (no Blizzard name, that's for sure), meaning it likely won't get the respect it deserves, even if it ends up being better than its competitors (or at least worthy).
Curious note: It's the biggest game I've seen (installed disk space size).

Considering the fact that this game enforces realtime travel (no porting), no instanced dungeons (camp fest) with 5 seconds per attack (boredom) and is generally shaping up to be a giant timesink, having a 50K subscription upon launch doesn't shock me one bit. Overall its giant step back in the MMORPG world.
