Already revealed a few weeks (http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=31426) ago, today Ubisoft officially announced that the action-filled flight combat game Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII will also be released for the PC, at the same time as the Xbox and Xbox 360 versions, in March 2006.
In Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII for the PC, players test their air-combat skills as they experience the most famous battles of World War II. As a squadron leader, players can fly up to 40 WWII aircraft in both single-player and multiplayer missions. Advancing a great line of graphical and technological features along with a very intuitive interface, Blazing Angels Squadrons of WWII for the PC provides PC gamers a combat experience in true World War II battles sites such as England, Germany, France, Morocco, Pearl Harbor, Midway and Tokyo.

Heh! Check this out...from the press release:
Static Buildings (I need some marketing help here, this needs a more compelling description) - Great model variety, with over 80 unique models per location. High resolution and 3D detail for over 600 building models. All buildings have multiple damage levels and feature high-resolution specular maps
Looks like they need some editing help too.

That is the best. LOL
I love it when the worthplaying webmaster dual posts. :D
Is this game going to be like Heros Over the Pacific? You know, 3rd person view and arcade play? If so, bleh. I want a really good flight sim for the consoles.

Agreed. I want some COCKPIT VIEWS, MUTHAFUCKAS! Like, click down on the right hand stick and be able to swivel your view around the cockpit. Hell, I'd be happy with fixed views on the damn D-pad. Is that too much to ask from the big ol' "next-gen" console?

Oddly enough, I was an arcadey game for the PC. And Crimsion Skies is getting old.

Lucasarts is sitting on the biggest gold mine of all time and they're just not gonna do anything about it.
X-wing for the 360. Next-gen graphics, online play with voice.
"Red Six, can you see Red Five?"
"Stabilize your rear deflectors. Watch for enemy fighters!"

Battlefront 2 just didn't cut it. I want the ability to adjust my shield/engine/weapon power.

Yeah, i would just love a nice dogfighting game, there haven't been any for quite some time...

Never heard of that one. Gotta check it out sometime.
While being a flight sim fan, sometimes I want a less technical game to have fun with, but it can't be too shallow or you lose interest too fast. X-Wing is a good middle ground and should be used as an archtype for other "arcade sims".
Just to let others know (if its not common knowledge already) that flight sims nowadays have so many difficulty options its not so far away from a 3rd person arcade flight sim...if you choose it.

Looks good to me. Theres plenty of ultra realistic flight sims out there. I want something where I know after an hour or of trial and error that I'm not going to die when landing.
