Nintendorevolution.ca (http://www.nintendorevolution.ca/) is reporting (http://www.nintendorevolution.ca/02062006/22/creator_of_halo_wants_to_work_on_nintendo_revoluti on) that Jason Jones, father of the Halo series, has said in an interview in EGM that he has a great deal of interest in the Nintendo Revolution.
In the interview Mr. Jones talks about a FPS on the system and some of the great ideas he had for it.
I'm really not just a Nintendo fanboy, honest! These are just the articles I find!
Update: Proven false unfortunately.

In related news, several Xbox/Halo fanboys have reportedly died from heart attacks, or thrown themselves from the tops of skyscrapers.

Well, so what if he has interest in it? His company is OWNED BY MICROSOFT. They're not going to let him make a freaking Nintendo game. Unless he is SO interested that he's going to go found is own independent company (HOPE HOPE HOPE) then this is all pointless. I have a feeling that this was a message from him to MS. As I said, Bungie can not make games for the Revolution, so this is probably some sort of 'FU' to MS higher-ups for some political thingie. I can't imagine he's stupid enough to praise the competition of the people who have the power to fire him, unless it's an intentional piss-off. Or, as I said, unless he's planning to found his own studio. And I HOPE that he is.

The Revolution isn't competing with MS or Sony, remember? Perhaps MS and Nintendo will announce a strageic partnership with the 360 going for one end of the gaming specturum and the Revolution going for the other and Live compatible with both.

Ooo nice detective work.. wouldn't have posted this if I'd seen that. This can be deleted then if this is the case!
Does anyone else feel really old when Jason Jones is referred to as 'the father of halo'?
It seems like macworld was only yesterday...

Also, doesn't the "Father of Halo" not work for Bungie anymore? I thought he started Wideload games, makers of Stubbs the Zombie?

The lead line is editorial. It should instead be at the bottom of the post in italics.
Also should be taken down as it has been disproved.

That was Alex Seropian, he was the owner of bungie, Jason Jones is the project lead.

Jason Jones has some great ideas, like using a crackpipe to aim.
Regardless of what title was given to who, Alex Seropian was the man behind HALO.
He leaves. Franchise turns to turd. Coincidence. No.

Seropian as a businessman. He had to do with the pleasant working environment that Bungie was (is) known for, but other than that he was a numbers-man. He really didn't have ALL that much to do with the design of the games themselves. From the very beginning, that's been Jason's territory. Saying that Seropian had more to do with Halo (or any Bungie game) than Jones is simply incorrect.
That said, I do believe that the loss of Seropian was a hit to Bungie.

Wow, you mean a guy who helped create the most successful modern FPS wants to do a game on a system with a controller that facilitates 3D spatial movement?
NO WAY.

Sell your 360s people, it's all over.

The closest thing I saw to this in the latest issue of EGM was the rumor that "several developers (including those in the PC community) who mostly make online games want to work on Nintendo's next-gen console." There was also an Alexander Seropian interview, but it didn't mention the Revolution at all.

I don't see why a games designer/player cannot be interested in the Rev controller and work on 360/MS. I am sure a lot developers are interested in the controller, that doesn't mean they will all make games. On a professional level it would be weird if you were NOT interested in this new controller.
So I guess this news post is just stating the obvious.
Also note that MS is making software for Nintendo products (DS/GBA). Apparently Age of Empires i pretty good on DS. If Rev doesn't compete with 360, who knows... MS might make some Rev games (can't see that happening immediatly.. it all depends on how the Rev will position itself).

Let this be an example of Nintendo fanboy desperation.
But the article's source is a thread on the IGN message boards. Surely it can be trusted completely.

This stuff drives me nuts. Why does this site moderate posts if they're not going to ensure that posts conform to their standard posting procedure?
Don't get me wrong, the editors themselves do a bang-up job, I just wish they would edit other's posts to the same standards...

Sorry about that lead line.. I didn't actually think the moderators were going to put that in there lol.
I went ahead and moved it underneath the story content stuff. I'm not really sure why it wasn't just outright deleted to be honest. My mistake for not enough fact checking.
