While Interplay is busy getting sued by Bethesda, looks like they are also busy "rebooting" an old Super Nintendo title. You may remember Clayfighter from back then, and all remember that it was decidedly average with cool claymation... but looks like you'll get to play it again next summer on your Wii and DSi. Note that it says DSi, because this'll be a download only game. Here's the info from a short press release:
Clayfighter will be developed for Interplay by StudioBlack Games’ Eric Hart, original programmer of Clayfighter for Super NES™. Interplay CEO Hervé Caen commented, “We are very enthusiastic to resurrect Clayfighter’s crazy characters and unique humor. Eric Hart’s involvement in the previous Clayfighter titles makes StudioBlack the logical choice to give this classic franchise a well-deserved makeover.” Fans can expect improved graphics and revamped game play to take advantage of Nintendo’s current generation hardware.
Clayfighter is planned for a Summer 2010 release via digital download through Nintendo’s WiiWare™ and DSiWare™ services.
