The sound effects do sound annoying.

How does this play people? Your verdicts please :D

Only played the trial. There are better, less boring, XBLA games imo.

We have all the Xbox 360 achievements listed for Crystal Quest (http://www.achieve360points.com).

If you play the game, come over and check out the achievements for it. If not, there might some other game's achievements that might interest you. If achievements don't interest you, then you probably don't want to hit the link. Thanks for your time! :)

By the way, nice site you have going on here! Thanks to whoever mentioned us here!

Aaaand let the Robotron (clone) Wars BEGIN!!1!

Yeah, I checked it out. It's not that good and similar in gameplay to Geometry Wars and Robotron.

It's odd how many games on XBLA have very similar gameplay.... I'm waiting for the Capcom games to start hitting.

How about more demos?

I remember playing this some 10-13 years ago when I was TA in a Computer Lab on a Mac. It was more fun that Solitare or Myst.

Whee... too bad I already own Geometry Wars, Smash TV, and Gauntlet. All of which are similar, but better.

Oh man, i can't believe this...i got this game for Mac when i was 13 and i loved it. It actually included a free graphics editor with it so you could draw your own enemies and add in your own sound effects. Wonderful, if not really hard, game.

I don't know. There's something about this. I never played the original but it's pretty addictive. This one it seems to be all about time. while you still have the shoot the bad guys thing going on, it's really all about collecting the crystals as fast as possible. I dig it.

There's nothing else to play on the 360, I suspect. Though I would be lying if I didn't say retro arcade services like this and Nintendo's up and coming service make me a bit eager to get a new video game system

Are there more Arcade games than retail games yet?

There is plenty to play. But I don't see why I should neglect these simple time-eaters, which are cheap and accessable. On the 360, I own the following: Kameo, CoD2, PDZ, DoA4, Geometry Wars, Hexic HD, Gauntlet, Smash TV, and Marble Madness Ultra. I don't regret buying any of them, and all these little Arcade games give me something to do when I don't want to get too involved, not to mention that they are cheap.

Bad-mouth these features all you want, but they are fun. Yes, it's just like shareware, but now it's semi-mainstream, and it's on my console.

I remember being at a convention and seeing Crystal Quest for the first time. I commented that it didn't look that impressive and I didn't know what all the fuss was about. Little did I know, but the author was sitting right in front of me, playing the game. He bristled, I glared back and the rest is history. ;)

BTW, this was the original Mac version, almost 20 years ago. :D

There are other things to play. And within the next month and a half, no one's going to be talking about XBLA games when you will have Oblivion, GRAW, Fight Night 3, & Blazing Angels goodness to play.

I still have plenty of games to play on 360 but I find that Live Arcade games are perfect for a quick gaming spurt. Just before dinner, get in a quick GWE or maybe early in the morning waiting for my car to warm up, jut a quick Robotron. Live Arcade is brilliant... best thing that happened to consoles IMHO.

I love this game, its fun, simple and addicting. Another game that will help to improve my weak gamerscore.
