Black & White 2 v1.2 Patch

Lionhead has released a new patch for strategy/sim game Black & White 2, although no details as to what it fixes are available at the moment.

Black & White 2 includes other new elements, such as improved graphics and Miracle effects such as rivers of fire and earthquakes that yield mass destruction. i just finished B&W2, I assume version 1.0 because I didn't bother to patch it. Compared to the first one, it was the model of stability, Lionhead has come a long way.

My nephews loved it. But for me besides the fact that making buildings is the only way to extend your influence, basically rebuild the same base over and over again, single player is too short, no multiplayer, and the fact that the enemy AI is brain dead. One would think the enemy AI would pose some difficulty since there is no muliplayer and the game stands on single player.

Oh and the fact that they focused more on pointless crap like "blades of grass detail" and "real life ants" instead of making a half way decent game.

I thought it was a pretty solid game that was totally under hyped...

I bought a copy of black and white 2 but alas, it runs at an unplayable speed and looks worse then the first game on my 3ghz 1.5g of ram radeon 9800 pc.
Its the damn smoke coming outta the chimneys I tell ya.

Anywho, does anyone know if this patch makes previous save games obsolete? The first patch made you start over. I'm not willing to give up the most badass cow on the planet.

That's alot like my PC, except minus 512 megs of ram and a swap in a 9800xt. Ran decently on mine.

I recieved it right around the same time Civ IV came out though, and thus it has recieved no love.

Still haven't gotten anywhere in B&W2, it's still a buggy mess that crashes all over the place. Hopefully this will be the patch that finally makes the damn thing playable, because spending every minute of the game wondering, "Where is it going to crash now?", sure takes the fun out of it.

Hi All!!

Ok all these thread about the patch being out and that it still doesn't work and how you all still hate Lionhead Studios has to stop.

The patch is NOT the official release of the patch it is just a build of the upcoming full release of patch 1.2. If you install the patch it is at your own risk for it is not the official released patch from Lionhead. The only way that it would be the official release is if you where to insert the Black and White 2 CD or DVD and at the Auto Start screen click UPDATE. If it updates to 1.2 then yes it is released if it does not and it says that there are no updates then there is no patch yet.

I know you are all frustrated with waiting but just because there was a so called patch released does not mean that you have to loose all sense of reality. If the patch was official Lionhead would let us know first not some no name site. They will let us know do not worry they are not done it yet. So in the mean time lets stop the threads about the new patches and continue on waiting and continue posting pics of our creatures and arty pics.

Hmmm. No reason to think Oblivion will be afflicted by this, Bethesda is tired and true. Dumb example.
