Madden NFL 2006
Wow. Lots of 360 titles up there. My guess is a lot of Live subscribers were early adopters of the 360.

How did CoD2 get that high? It's not like its online system is that good.

 ... I would think theyd be the last people to get a 360...

He says these are based on users logged on, but is that based on actual online play, or just people with Live (gold or silver) playing the game?
Like how Fable was ranked as one of the 10 most played live games, despite only being Live aware?
Edit: No, apparently there is no distinction.

Looks like there's only one game to take down Halo 2 from the number one spot.

This list just sends a confusing message.
I just don't see it how all those 360 games are on there. I mean if this is the case, I would think there are not really that many people on Live, and if so, a LARGE number are playing Halo 2.

Or early adopters of the 360 are more apt to play on Live.
Given XBLArcade and all.

Ya, I mean I believe the last numbers I saw was 1.25 million Live subscribers in the US/North America region.
That was why I mentioned a lot of 360 buyers must be Live subscribers already from XBox 1. Over at the Gamercard Wall (httP://www.bapenguin.com) most of the users listed are Gold members.
It makes sense really if you think about it.
Call of Duty I can kinda see, since America loves FPS games. But yeah, if you have a 360, you're very likely to already have had a original XBL account.

Forgive me if I'm stupid... but aren't "Madden 06" and "Madden 2006" the same game? Or is that just the deliniation between Xbox and 360?

It's the latter. The following isn't directed at you BTW.
And the list makes sense to me. The 360 sold well at launch and with (even the Core systems) it came a free Xbox Live Silver subscription, no credit card required. So it's pretty easy to see the top selling 360 titles on the top ten most played Live games list. Hell, do the math.

The "Full Auto Demo" is just a demo which you download from live. There is no online play in the demo, right? I thought this list was for games which are played online.
It shouldn't surprise anyone that there are so many 360 games on the list. It's even easier to get on-line with the 360 and ALL of the 360 games are required to have some sort of on-line component.
I for one NEVER went on or cared about Live with my Xbox, but it was plug and play for the 360 and there you have it... the best thing since sliced bread!

Yeah, this lists seems reasonable to me. I hardly ever see people playing UC2 or Links or Project Snowblind or other Live games that are for xbox1, and this seems to be the trend for most games that aren't Halo2 about 6months after their release. Hell, awesome games like Top Spin had their Live assistance dropped a long time ago like Fall 04 due to lack of interest.
