From the Stardock forums, GalCivII has gone gold. Galactic Civilizations II is an incredibly deep 4x space empire game which builds on the original with concepts like ship design, fleet management, and customizable player races.

There is a better link detailing some of the last days of work put into the title leading up to Gold, along with some screenshots.

I've been looking forward to this for quite some time. It's going to be the game MOO3 should have been, seems like.

I did read there is a tutorial, though I can't say if it's great or not. You can download the beta manual in pdf form here (http://www.galciv2.com/databank/docs/gcmanual-draft3.pdf) which should shed some light on how the game will play.

This should be a great day for Turn Based Games.

Buying this. Do not mention the Moo3: It never happened, as soon as we can collectively shrug off that nightmare, all will be well.

You promise? Cross your heart and hope to die, stick a needle in your eye?

I loved MOO and MOO2. I was so excited when I heard about MOO3. I bought it the first day it came out, installed in on my machine. And cried and cried and cried as I tried to play the stupid thing.

So I ask you again, you promise that Galactic Civilizations II is a good game? I don't think I could survive that heartbreak again.

No, this is not the game where you have to buy cards. That game is some dumb game that nobody plays and was pimped by Penny Arcade for a short time.

I was in the 3rd or 4th beta, and even back *then* it was pretty cool. Is it cIV? Not sure, but I think it's at *least* MOO2.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I have a family, a job, and I play Guild Wars.

Curse you, Star Dock. Curse you.

Ronberk, I must be nobody. It does take a hardcore group of people to play.
