In case you were wondering when the first DLC for Duels of the Planeswalkers, well, keep wondering... but it should be soon. Stainless and Wizards of the Coast will be releasing their first pack called Duel the Dragon alongside a big title update that'll fix some issues with the game. Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/06/pax-2009-duel-the-dragon-dlc-coming-to-duels-of-the-planeswalke/):

Duel the Dragon, the first expansion to the popular Magic: The Gathering for the Xbox 360 set, features three new decks, six more ladder levels, new challenges including "multi-turns" that require more than one turn to win, and a final boss that is strongly hinted at in the title. They didn't announce a date for the DLC except for "soon." Even sooner than that, however, will be a full title update, which includes numerous bug fixes (no more freezes!), a forfeit option, and more.

Sounds good to me.

How about the ability to customize our decks, you know like, being able to remove cards. Maybe I'll consider playing it then

Not going to happen. They have Magic Online if you want to customize decks, buy cards and such. Though it may suck, it would be pretty stupid for WOTC to offer a game with a ton of cards and decks for a measly 800 points on Xbox arcade when their entire business model is getting people to shell out money for booster packs.

And as much as I hate to admit it they made the right decision here. Most people playing this game are new to Magic and allowing them to go in and screw up their decks while allowing those of us who know the in's and out's to go in and optimize would be bad.

Right now if someone new goes online with the BG elf deck, for example, they are going to be on equal footing card-wise with everyone else. If they lose it will be due to play errors and not deck building skills.

Great news.

That said, the BG elf deck should be removed. No fun playing (and no point using another deck) when everybody uses the the same, overpowered elf deck.
