Sega needs to just update the graphics and release the game again.
If they don't the terrorists have won and if you don't agree your obviously wrong.

Really? The roster was large, but the fighting system was weak. One button combos mad for a button masher with little of the technical brilliance the VF2 had.

Funny I plugged in my Saturn recently to play that and Panzar Dragoon Saga and that futuristic fire fighter game (can't remember the name at the moment) and all 3 of those would be great for a rerelease or revamp. Especially the fire fighting game since the only way to get it was to preorder the limited run (5k units?)

Ah good 'ol Fighters Megamix, still can't believe they put in the damn car from Daytona as a fighter. Still have my copy of it stored away. I think you're talking about Burning Rangers Ramblin.

Burning Rangers?! Was it a limited run? I picked min up retail at an Electronics Boutique one day and I had to choose between that and House of the Dead. I still regret passing on HOTD because it hasn't ever been released on a home console since, and it was sold out 2 days later when I came back to get it.
Burning Rangers is good fun, though. It ran on the NiGHTS engine and it showed in both it's good points (good effects, colored lighting, ect) and bad points (draw distance, framerate). I loved the random survivor spawns, and I worked hard to find them all but I never did. I'll agree with you on that one, It's a title that needs a reboot.
Saga is also fantastic, although a bit short and easy.

The Sega Saturn was my favorite console when it was out. I fully understand why the PSX won that generation, but I grew up in a time when arcade games were the pinnacle of gaming. The games that I enjoy(ed) are Fighters/Beat 'Em Ups, Lightgun, and Role playing games and these were the games that the Saturn had plenty of. I've had my Saturn in storage for about a year now because of a lack of space. Before that it sat in my entertainment center cocked at a 45 degree angle away from the screen so my homemade S-Video cable would keep a signal going to the TV. It is the console that I own the most titles for by far. Much of my collection can be seen here (http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom?lid=100018&owner=see_colon&mode=view&sortC=6), but I've long since forgotten the password for that site, so it hasn't been updated in a while. My Saturn list is also incomplete because the site wouldn't allow for duplicate entries, and I own a fair amount of games in domestic and import releases.
This thread reeks of awesome just because it's about a Saturn exclusive. The pungent aroma of it's awesome will permeate this forum and bring fortune upon those who post here.

Fighters Megamix was my favorite fighting game of all time. I used to love VF 2. Now I know that Megamix had some rather weird choices such as the Daytona car or those damn Pandas... but I thought the game was fantastic. The unlockables...keeping track of total play time etc... I loved that game and wish they'd just redo the graphics and release it again.

My first post about it may have come off a bit harsh. I enjoyed the game when it came out, and it was nice to see a VF2/3/FV/SEGA mash-up fighter with solid controls and decent graphics. Even today, if they released a faithful translation with identical graphics on the DS I would buy it again.
But at the same time, VF2 had a more technical fighting system, faster framerate and higher resolution. Some characters looked a bit better in FM because of the shading, but others looked much worse because of the drop in resolution and polycount.

If they revamp Fighters Megamix for modern consoles, they'd probably update all the characters to Virtua Fighter 5R's style, including reworking the Fighting Vipers characters and adding in some Shenmue fighters for good measure. And I'd totally buy that in a heartbeat!
