Straight from the horse's mouth (http://atlus.com/cgi-bin/press?pr_id=20060127):

IRVINE, CA -- February 3, 2006 -- Atlus U.S.A., Inc., a leading publisher of interactive entertainment, today announced that Yggdra Union, a strategy role-playing game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, is scheduled for release in the fall of 2006.

YGGDRA UNION Key Features:
- Strategic gameplay in which decks of “Tactical Cards” are used to determine battlefield movement, special attacks, and more!
- Character design by manga artist Satoko Kiyuzuki and card design by Sunaho Tobe, character designer of “Riviera: The Promised Land”!
- Over 30 attack, defense, and support skills!
- Join forces with other allies to form an unbeatable Union!
If you've been craving for a SRPG fix on your GBA and are not afraid of childlike character designs, then you'll most likely eat this up. For a more detailed description of the battle system refer to this article over at RPGamer (http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q4-2005/122405a.html) and visit the official homepage (http://www.sting.co.jp/yggdra/) (Japanese only) to see what the game looks like.

Atlus announcing a localization before the game has even come out in Japan is a sign of confidence and maybe even a precedent for things to come.

"igg-dra" I believe.

I love you Atlus, Thank you for bringing over the types of games to this country that noone else has the balls too.
Thank you for also translating them extremely well.
..I just wish i could have actually gotten a copy of Riviera...

I'm enjoying Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne currently.

South Carolina isn't in Canada.
I know that I could secure a copy of it online - I just dislike paying more for a game than it would have cost to buy it originally. Sadly, that is a trend that most Atlus titles follow.

I used to be a hater of the kiddie designs, then I played Rebelstar Tactical Command for the GBA. Those cutesy aliens are aggressive, cover each other, and will use grenades to blow you out of fortifications. The AI is better than about 90% of what is out there.

So I'll probably be checking this game out. Thanks for the tip.

Riviera was a cool, though very different, kind of RPG. I'll be looking forward to more by this developer. I'm still eagerly awaiting some sort of report that they're bringing over the new Devil Summoner for PS2 or the remake for PSP. Anyone know anything solid about that? They have had me sold on the Shin Megami Tensei and related games ever since Persona 2. The new ones have just been getting better.

Ar Tonelico looks very very cheesy. I usually don't mind anime-like characters, but Ar Tonelico is a bit too much. I couldn't keep myself from laughing when I watched the promotional video, because it seemed they had nailed every cliche possible to attract the Akihabara otaku, rather than casual players. Consequently the game didn't sell as well as they hoped, so now they're aiming for the more lucrative American anime nerd market.

Damn if that price is too much for you then you obviously don't want it very much.

Riveria is fun, but it's much too average for me to imagine paying full retail or more than retail for it. There are too many better games out there. I guess it might be worth it if you've already played Rebelstar, Tactics Ogre, FFTA, and Advance Wars and you need a new GBA RPG/strat fix.
