Dungeon Lords English v1.4 Update Patch

Long in the making, Dreamcatcher finally released the v1.4 English patch version for Heuristic Park's action/RPG Dungeon Lords. This update adds new weapons, skills, hot keys, allows you to customize characters to a greater degree, optimizes multiplayer, as well as the usual gameplay tweaks, crash/bug fixes, etc.

A total let down due to the bugs and shortcomings, lets hope this patch finally makes it worthwhile.

I'm surprised they even bothered patching this game. Someone let me know if the patch makes the game more playable.

I'm going to check it out today at some point but, really, there isn't going to be anything in this patch that addresses the major faults this game has (not within 104MB anyway). It's still fun to play every now and again just to run around and kill things but I seriously doubt I'll ever play it to completion. I really wanted this to be a good game too. Now with the existing (patched) decent engine and a development kit, the community might be able to salvage it for something. You could re-use the map and structures, put in some f'ing decent NPC's (and maybe more than 2 of them!), maybe even some *gasp* furniture and supplemental props, a better story and you might have something worth playing all the way through :)

Nice. Never heard of this one, but GIS'd it and found the home page. Looks like a cool game, and the forum (http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/) seems active. I'll be keeping an eye on this one. The FAQ is sparse with info, but apparantly the game is still progressing if you read the press section of the website (and can read Polish)...

This was a huge disappointment, made all the worse given the 'celebrity' status of the name behind it. Though what made good games 20 years ago doesn't always translate into good games today. At this point, I don't even think a patch could get me back into the game.
