Slim pickings for the big two, especially in the case of DC but Image reprints Chew, although it's not featured here, and has a cool new robot book!
- DC (http://www.dccomics.com) - Marvel (http://www.marvel.com)- Image (http://www.imagecomics.com) - Top Cow (http://www.topcow.com) - Dark Horse (http://www.darkhorse.com) - IDW (http://www.idwpublishing.com/)- Aspen (http://www.aspencomics.com/) - Wildstorm (http://www.dccomics.com/wildstorm/) -
Red Tornado #1
DC seems to be rewarding its hardcore fans lately by giving smaller name characters a shot at a mini-series. The new Animal Man book is great and hopefully Red Tornado deserves the same attention. This is an origin story for the most part but will introduce a whole bunch of new characters into the DCU including an android family for Red. Should be a good read during a quiet week.
The Shield #1
I have a little curiosity for the various Mr. America style superheroes. Marvel obviously has the undisputed king in the form of Cap but the likes of US Agent, the Young Avengers' Patriot and your various knock-offs have a weird hold on me. I like it that DC is introducing a similar character with his own unique story. I'm not sure if I have space for it with my current, huge buy-list but this could be fun.
Marvel Zombies Return: Spider-Man #1
Well I heard that Ultimate Comics Spider-Man kinda sucked but we'll give the webbed one another try given the zombie content. These one-shots act, somewhat, as an epilogue to Marvel Zombies and explains what happened to the main characters after the final panel. This one obviously focuses on Spidey and you'll see his undead ass try out some heroism. A must for fans of the various Marvel Zombies books.
Fall Out Toy Works #1
This is something a little different in my usual list of superhero outings. A successful young robot maker gets a bit swept up by his factories new android Tiffany. Putting his business on the line he ends up fixated on her repair. A tale of obsession with some very cool art. Robots go a long way with me – who doesn't like robots? - and a cool idea like this deserves support.
