Just picked this up. I have only played about 30 minutes into the original game but from what I have seen, this Trilogy package is a miracle for hard core fans of the original Prime game. The new controls and high resolution textures take the game to another level. The visual content of the game is almost exactly the same but it seems like the resolution has been increased, or at least the textures. That is not to say the game looks as good as Prime 3, but it does breathe some new life into it for me. Load times between rooms seem to have been improved significantly as well.

Prime 1 controls much better with the Wii controller, at least as well as Prime 3 does, so long as you set the controls to advanced in the Trilogy menu. One set of control settings applies to all 3 games.

Also, the game comes in a special metal collectors case that is actually pretty slick.

Thumbs up so far. I was skeptical when reviewers were saying it was a "good deal" at $50 even if you own the games, but it does sort of feel like a new game.

Now that i'm done with Shadow Complex, the prime trilogy is the next game i'm going to tackle. I can probably finish prime 1 in under 5 hours if i'm anywhere near as good as i used to be, prime 2 will take roughly 10... and I can't even imagining speedrunning prime 3 yet.

Still, this trilogy package makes $200 that i've spent on the metroid prime games. I still think that Metroid Prime 1 is one of the top 5 games ever created; so i'll probably have no regrets once i get started on these.

I own all three of these so it kills me to buy this package, but the extra stuff they have included with it is so nice, plus being able to play it in wide screen mode is too much. Ill get it, but when someone has it on sale.
