According to the Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-6894-SF-Console-Game-Examiner~y2009m8d20-Konami-explains-why-Peace-Walker-is-only-for-PSP)(who listened to the latest Kojima podcast (http://www.kjp.konami.jp/gs/hideoblog_e/2009/08/000186.html#more)) MGS Peacewalker will only be on the PSP because they want you to interact with real people and be able to take MGS with you wherever you go.

“We want people to go out and socialize with other people. You know physically take your PSP with you, go to your friend’s house and hang out together. Of course we could have done co-op, maybe, on PS3 or something like that. But whenever you do online co-op, that actually, in a way, kind of discourages people from playing together.”

Why are you reading this news? Get off the computer and go meet people!

While I will buy this and play it, it will not inspire me to play this game with other people.

All it will do is make me wonder why Kojima didn't develop it for PSN, since I'm sure to get frustrated by the lack of two analog thumbsticks.

If I had to guess why Kojima is REALLY doing this, it's because he wants to keep telling Big Boss stories but feels that doing a Solid Snake type game on PS3 after MGS 4 was supposed to end the whole thing would be like reneging on the social contract he has with the fans. I know Metal Gear Rising is coming, but that is gonna focus on Raiden and is supposed to be far more action oriented while incorporating stealth elements, whereas MGS was stealth action incorporating a few action elements.

The game will likely be well designed and entertaining, but playing it with other people? After the disaster that MGO has been? Not likely.

Sorry, I meant to say ',whereas MGS was stealth based play incorporating a few action elements.'

Redundancy FTL;_;

Game designers are starting to act more like social engineers every day.

Hey game devs, would you kindly stop telling me how to play games?

Maybe they looked at the success of Monster Hunter (and similar games) in Japan and wanted to emulate that.
