Five titles from Interplay's back catalogue have been released (http://store.steampowered.com/news/2741/) on Steam. Each one of the games is currently on sale at 10% off ($8.99). The Fallout Collection sells for $19.99.

Beginning today, Interplay titles including the original Fallout (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38400/), Fallout 2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38410/), Fallout Tactics (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38420/), Sacrifice (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38440/) and Kingpin (http://store.steampowered.com/app/38430/) will become available for purchase via Steam.

"We are excited to offer the millions of Steam customers online access to Interplay titles beginning with some jewels of our classic PC catalog priced below $10," said Herve Caen, Interplay CEO.

Well put, Herve. Welcome aboard! Oh, you can also get the three Fallout games as a package deal here as Fallout Collection (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/2008/).

Is this the US verion with kids or the UK without? The censored version took out the kids but there is a bug that will not let you finish the game because there is a quest you need to speak with a kid.

I tried loaded my original disks for FO 1 & 2 on Vista and it was a horrible experience. Which is Vista as a whole really.

I thought this was the three fallout games for $10. It would have been an instant buy. For $20 though? Meh. I wouldn't want to try to deal with potential compatibility issues for that.

I wish steam games were priced more reasonably. Especially for old content like this. $5.99 on GoG or $10 on steam.

I think "Fallout Collection" is decidedly misnamed.

I cannot say enough about how awesome Sacrifice is, so I will just say that yes, that is Tim Curry as the voice of the wind god.

Ok, here's the deal. I've been playing games for over 20 years but I skipped Fallout 1 & 2. I kept starting them over and over but never really got into them. As years passed, I kept trying less and less and I basically haven't even installed Fallout 1 or 2 in the past 2-3 years now. Now Fallout 3 has it's problems and I wouldn't call it a great game, just a very good one. I did spend over 100 hours playing it. This autumn looks pretty dull when it comes to games (Dragon Age might be good.. but.. that's about it) so could someone kindly just slap me with some facts and force me to play these great games I skipped 10 years ago? Just call me idiot or something, that should do the trick.

Dude, you totally missed out..but I would still highly recommend trying again - definitely start with F1. F2 is bigger and badder, but it's essentially more of the same. So if you go with F2 first, you'll be spoiled and have less inclination to get through F1. Anyways, you're definitely no idiot - certainly smart enough to buy the games, but I would say....you're just not a sophisticated gamer. ;)

I kid man...cheers. Btw, F3 is a travesty...doesn't even come close to being called a "Fallout" game.

Phinor, I'm with ya. I've tried to play Fallout 1 & 2 several times, but they never grabbed me. I think, like many older game, you just had to be there at the time.

Anyway, this post made me think about this collection, which I have and occasionally install:

http://www.amazon.com/Interplay-15th-Anniversary-Anthology-Pc/dp/B000051ZT1

Those are some crazy prices they're asking. But has the most awesome thick paper manual ... man, miss those.

What? No Star Trek: 25th Anniversary, Blackthorne, or Lost Vikings? Harumph.

I also have tried fallout 1 and 2 several times with no luck, I am sure they are great games they just did not interest me. However they also did not work very well on my computer so perhaps the steam versions will be better.

On another note I love that steam is releasing old games there are so many out there that I would love to play again. This summer I played the Dig and both Railroad Tycoon 2 and 3.

Had a glance at this and even though its good with the releases on steam and all I still think GoG beats this for price, compatability and extras.

Wow..20 bucks for a few ancient games that can be gotten for free.

Guess these hucksters never heard of Dosbox.

Fallout 1 and 2 are the best RPGs ever made in my opinion. If you can get past the graphics and archaic interface you'll discover how much they kick the shit out of Fallout 3.

Shame really. I installed Carmageddon/Carmageddon TDR 2000 and Red Alert 2 the other day and all worked just fine but then again, I wouldn't expect games that came out 10+ years ago to work......

These Steam versions are compatible with Vista?

I mean like the GOG ones?

What would be cool is if in Fallout: Vegas if you came across a computer that you could play Fallout 1 on in the game. That would be cool.

What? No ... Lost Vikings? Harumph.

Agreed, that was one of my absolute favorite Interplay games of all time.

That and Clay Fighter.

Hey, watch out, those of you interested in modding Fallout 1/2 for hi-res and widescreen and whatnot: it seems as though (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=944996) that won't work for the Steam versions presently.

The gog.com versions of these games definitely support (http://www.gog.com/en/forum/Fallout_Series/fallout_mods/_/1) the aforementioned mods, though.

Clay Fighter? that can't be anything but nostalgia talking. Magazines made it look badass (and I remember wanting it badly), but I got to try it out recently and ... it was terrible.

I liked it. It was clunky and hard to manage in its first incarnations, but the N64 iteration was pretty enjoyable.

Imagine what they could do with it if they lost the digitized clay models and made a Clayfighter version look and play like BlazBlue or Guilty Gear.
