It's been submitted to the iTunes music store. We just have to wait for approval. I think it should be okay....we meet all their criteria. I'm in the process now of trying to get it in the browse section of the store and not just the search. That may take some time because they want podcasts that have been running a while.
You can still manually add it to your podcast software (iTunes, Juice, etc.). That way you'll get notified of it before we post it here.
Congrats to all the callers who made it on to the show. Take a listen, guys. There's some good LOL moments in there, especially when Tessa gives her .02
And yes, E3 is like a con. :)

Everyone feel free to let me know what you think and if there's suggestions that Tessa and I might use to make the show better.
Also if you want to call in and contribute, be sure to tune in live Friday night from 9 central to midnight at www.kumm.org!

So, is this thing three hours long, or have the music bits been cut out? I've been looking for a decent video game related podcast for a while now and most of the rest are either misinformed, biased, or just plain ol' boring. If I don't have to wade through a bunch of songs I may or may not like I'll definitely take a listen.

Kefka "Uh, yeah."
(Just listening to that part now.)And yes, E3 is like a con. :)Y'know, you could've said "Well, con just means 'convention', so, yeah."

There's one song and the podcast is around 40+ minutes. I think the two hosts did a pretty good job for the first time in this format.
EDIT: They also state their loyalties but give a pretty good job ribbing and rubbing all the consoles.

Good idea. I'll add some contact info so people can submit questions to be read on air. Kef will have to let you know about voicemail.
Kef, can you take WAV or MP3 files and play them on air? I'm thinking that someone could record their question and you could play it.
The blog website will also post the playlist for that evening as well as whatever Kef and Tessa see fit to post I'm assuming.

If you can record stuff and send it to my e-mail account (kefkataran@gmail.com) at least by Friday afternoon, I can easily burn a quick CD for playing questions on the air.

I thought the show was a bit unbalanced.
Tessa didn't like the X360. Fine, but at least have another person on the board who do love the X360 just to give a fair balance to the discussion. Listening to Tessa's comments feels so one sided especially especially after listening to the people calling in who were very interested in buying the X360 (most of them). It doesn't help with the fact that she doesn't even like playing online, which makes her credibility to comment online games almost useless.
Kef, you might want to get a X360 but you're better being in a neutral position because you are the host of the show.

Didnt mean anything bad by it. The idea is good. The problem is that the girl on the show only playes retro games and NOTHING else. So while the guy was talking about variety of subjects she had nothing to say or had no opinion. It didnt have to be about xbox 360. Just something other than downloading bootleg roms or playing old games on the Nes. No point having a non-gamer on the show. It need to be a balance between the 2 people hosting the show.

I liked Tessa's comments. She seemed more uninformed than anti 360. I think part of the show's gimmick could be people calling trying to convince her to become a gamer. Like the first caller (By the way he was great, show peaked right about there. ;)) talking up the virtues of live. Or the last one selling her on the revolution.
It's cool to have someone on the show that doesn't carry a lot of baggage from the previous generation.

I think that she can be a good balancing force in the show, but that she just needs to talk 'more'. Lots of other people liked the X360 (like Bumbuliuz said, near everyone,) and she didn't. She thinks that playing with pals in the same room is better than playing with people you've never met, though lots of us probably think that online multiplayer is the next sliced bread.

Which is exactly what I thought. She represents the general public at large (notice I didn't say Animal Crossing type general public).
She is the average cool person that gives a good insight as an outsider looking in to the hardcore gamer world. It's an interesting dynamic.
It should also appeal to more people, but of course it might alienate some hardcore people.

Well, most of the people calling in were 360 fans, as you pointed out, and I defneded it to the best of my ability. It's not really feasible to get a third person on board for the show, so I think we'll just have to put up with Tessa's Microsoft-hating. ;) No worries, though, I'll conitnue trying to balance it out as best I can. Anyways, the point with Tessa certainly isn't credibility, as we made it very clear that she's less of a hardcore and more of a causal/retro gamer. It's more to give an 'outside' perspective from someone who's not in the gaming community persay.
Kef, you might want to get a X360 but you're better being in a neutral position because you are the host of the show.
I'd love to own an X360 if I had the cash. :p
The problem is that the girl on the show only playes retro games and NOTHING else. So while the guy was talking about variety of subjects she had nothing to say or had no opinion.
As I said above, the idea is to present two perspectives -- one of a hardcore gamer and one of a less hardcore gamer. But actually, if you listen Tessa fesses up to playing more contemporary games than she originally led on. That said, part of the problem with her not saying much was merely that this was her first time ever live on the radio whereas I've been doing it for a year and a half. Chances are she'll open up and talk more the longer she's been on the air.
She seemed more uninformed than anti 360. I think part of the show's gimmick could be people calling trying to convince her to become a gamer.
I agree with that completely. I think part of Tessa's deal is that she's just kind of generally anti-Microsoft, so she isn't as informed as people here may be on whatever virtues 360 may or may not have. Although she did admit to playing Xbox, right? ;)
but that she just needs to talk 'more'.
What I said above. She'll hopefully be talking more as we continue.

I liked the show, but I would be nice if you might have a theme for some shows, like after the news you could focus on a theme to discuss and take calls on, like Square or survival horror or flash games. And I like listening to two people casualy discuss a specific game, like on the 1up show. Also, I like how the TWiT (http://thisweekintech.com/40) podcast lists the subjects discussed with links.

This is actually a good idea for the site. When you put in the show notes, you could link to the site where Phil pulled the story from. Very good way to interact on the listener level.

I like the idea of themed shows. I was just thinking about it earlier today in fact, and that's definitely something we'll probably develop later on once we're more in the swing of things. As for links with show notes, great idea and no clue why that hadn't occurred to me. That will definitely be coming to a podcast near you.

We can do that, no problem. We can also put a one or two word subject with it. I sort of based the show notes off of TwiT, but I didn't take it all the way. It's so obvious, we overlooked it. :)

What tunes got played, just out of interest? *is dling as thing is posted*
EDIT: Initial impressions, move the mic away from your mouth, and you sound like a giant nerd :p
EDIT2: I'd be an awesome 3rd host were one ever needed, for example I've written a FAQ, it's like ramming your head against a rusty nail.
EDIT3: You listed the tunes in the Podcast, clever prick.
EDIT4: I'm pretending my leg is cake right now
EDIT5: That Zelda thing is neat, they could do an 8-Bit game with sword-chucks. Lastly you need me for music, seriously.
Well I thought it was pretty decent when I listened to it live(my expectations were very low though), haveb't listened to this cast. It's probably better with the music to break things up.

Potentially, but honestly the podcast and the live show have a very different feel to them that I feel works for each. No music on the podcast sounds surprisingly right.

Best I could do is TS or MSN or something. Besides, when I'm not stuttering I'm swearing, makes for a great 3rd host but not so great caller. Besides, you have the jist of it, rusty nail, head wound.

Not that, the playlists, I mean jesus, that song at the end? I feel asleep and dreamt I was being eaten by badgers, that's how bland it was. But it's the kinda bland I expect from kids today, why I'm here force my influence down your collective throats :p

I totally disagree, natually. ;) But most of the playlist was done by request from the forums, as I expect it to be in the coming weeks.
