Persona 3 Coming to PSP with Female Lead

Persona 3 is coming to the PSP with a twist; it'll have a female lead character. Not much information has been released about the game but we do know that one new ability will that you will have control of your party members. Persona 3 for the PSP is set to come out in Japan on November 1st.

I do wonder if this is going to be some kinda sequel, or maybe the same game from one of the girls' perspective, or an entire different story that's happening at the same time, or...

Actually, it just occured to me: One of the big things for Persona was the sudo-dating sim they had hidden under the hood. Are we going to be trying to pick up guys now? In which case our options are
-short skirt
-lowcut sweater
-bat eyelashes
Cause let's be honest, that's all it'd really take. :D

Seriously, though. Either they're taking out the dating-sim part, or will be marketing this game for girls?

I wasn't expecting to see this jump to PSP as well as the original. Fantastic news, it's a brilliant game and really deserves another re-release beyond FES. I'll be grabbing this as soon as it hits.

I can tell you it most likely isn't being told from the perspective of a pre-existing character. Here is the scan in question and you'll note the female protagonist is a completely new design.

Monster Hunter Unite is the reason to own a psp. Ever since I've got that game I've barely played my 360 or ps3, its fucking addictive and so damn convenient. (Except for small games of Trials HD and Shatter)

Just something I noticed in the scan. Characters are holding tarot cards. Now these were present in early concept art for the original P3 but were eventually dropped in favour of Evokers.

The cards re-appeared properly in P4. If these are new artworks it is interesting to note that the cards are back.

Dunno what any of this means, just something I noticed.
