The Pseudo Interactive Developers Blog (http://people.1up.com/do/my1Up?publicUserId=5722187) over at 1up.com (http://ww.1up.com/) hopfully clears up some issues with the full auto demo.

Anyway, we're quite proud of the Full Auto demo, even though it's a bit of a relic compared to the quality of the final game. I'm glad to hear that many of you are enjoying it and can see the inherent promise of the final game even though you're experiencing older codeI for one will be buying this because I see the potental for online fun. I did think the demo was alittle lackluster at first but after a few races I started to have fun. Hope the final game is a huge leap over the demo though.

Yes. There is.

You know this is a demo for Xbox 360 available on Xbox Live Marketplace for free right?

The demo is cool and fun. The hood cam with the gun control is a blast. My only gripe is there is almost TOO MUCH going on at once. You almost can't appreciate the game. I'll definitely be picking this up though.

I've had quite a few crashes with this demo. I haven't really had any problems with my 360 otherwise. Anyone else see this? I'll probably buy the game regardless...I see the fun hidden.

Game's kind of loose at first, but once you get used to the driving, then used to the weapons, then used to the rewind (ahem... unwreck), it's all good!

The car selection in the demo's not very good, though. There's really only the one Camaro-looking car, because the lowrider is such a POS.

I've seen videos that blow away what's in the demo and show more variety in tracks/cars/weapons, so I'll probably be grabbing this one when it comes out, especially if they can fix some of the framerate issues when TOO MANY particles are on the screen.

The demo was created in August (probably for TGS) according to the blog post. I'm sure with 4-5 months of additional development they've cleaned up framerate issues (crosses fingers).

I thought the demo sucked at first, but then I felt myself enjoying it more as I spent more time with it. Still haven't decided if it warrants a purchase yet though.

The demo is nowhere near as fun as the Fight Night 3 demo.

Period.

The demo crashed my Xbox, I won't be playing the demo anymore. I don't want to have to send my Xbox back again.

If they tighten up the control and make it less floaty I will be happy. I will be renting unless the online play is really amazing then I might buy.

Jury is still out for me. Demo didn't impress and that blog could be damage control PR.

Because they're both games?

This was not as fun as Burn Out or Twisted Metal. Since this is the ad wizard brainchild of those two games it should be twice as fun. If the game comes out in less than a month why release a really old demo? Being unimpressed with this demo doesn't make me want to hope that the $60 game will do anything much better.

That was explained in the blog if you bothered to read it.

He didn't really address it other than to say that due to technical reasons and scheduling they forked their dev code into two paths at one point (demo and full release).

The real question of "why" here, to me anyway, isn't why the old code but more why kill the marketing buzz with a crappy demo?

If you are attempting to build a huge successful marketing campaign for your product do you release a demo that is such a huge buzz killer? I wouldn't think so.

It was a very bad marketing mistake and explaining the demo as being "old" code could be construed as PR damage control.

Easy. They're both vying for my finite number of dollars.

Don't you mean Question Mark?

Or is it retorical?

If the demo is nothing compared to the final product, then why release it? It can only do more harm than good. Seriously, I was considering buying the game, until I played the demo. In my opinion, the game feels like a combination of Twisted Metal, and Crazy Taxi, without any of the fun from those two titles.

I think itīs ancient to think that just beacuse you like games, you are supposed to like all games. Games have genres just like movies and music. Just because there is a great Hiphop album out, it doesnīt mean the rocker will like it.

I was keen on this game. However after the demo I thought it left a lot to be desired.

I could see what they was trying to do but one of the complaints was there was too much going on. It didn't help in the demo either that to have another go you had to load it up again. It froze my xbox many times too when I tried to bypass the movie at the start. So overall it didn't impress me.

This demo hurt them instead of helping them.

However reading the blog I may give this another try. I'll have to try it first before I buy now though.

I'm starting to get the impression from downloading free demos that Microsoft's plan to get me to buy more games after being enticed by the demo is going to backfire. I find myself downloading a game's demo with anticipation, and after playing, I decide not to buy the final product.

Just what I've noticed, kind of ironic.

The Kameo demo on live convinced me to buy it and the Condemned demo made me atleast rent the game to see more. I have to say the Fight Night demo is beautiful and I hate sports games. I can see how releasing crappy demos could hurt this really cool feature though.

I don't think releasing a shit demo hurts anyone but the developer of that game. I have played all of the demos and have decided to buy a few games based on the demos. If I can avoid having to pay $60 or waste a rental to find out if a game is ass then that makes me happy. Still as many have pointed out here developers should not be releasing demos that do not represent the finished product.

I would have to agree. I bought PGR3 after playing the demo because I really enjoyed it. I would have to say NO demo is better then old demo or shitty demo. If you are making a game you have to know if your game is shit or not. If its shit and you have this marketing blitz that is building it up and getting people interested don't let them play it till the buy it. The last thing you want to do is build up interest then let people down. Even if the game is 200 times better then the demo (which I think it will be) I still think people will skip right over it and wait for burnout which comes out in march. One thing that I personaly think Full auto has going for it is... Its combat and racing which will translate well on Live. I'm hoping it will be good enough to take me away from PDZ which has 100% of my videogaming attention right now.
