1UP (http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3175600)has a two page article talking about Starcraft 2's first single player campaign. Interesting points is that there is no multiplayer co-op and some units that were said to be taken out of the game are able to be played in the campaign.
Gameplay-wise, this storyline is told via a branching storyline. After the third mission, the player then can check a starmap, and choose a specific mission from a list of about two or three missions -- with each mission opening up further ones in its chain. Most of the time, players can check out almost all the missions at any given moment, but there will be some specific "choose your path now, and live with it," type of moments. Think stuff along the lines of, "do we arrest, or outright assassinate, the Emperor?"

Seems pretty interesting, I like the things there are to do in between missions.

Love the persistant tech tree. That always pissed me off that each mission I have relearn how to build/use stimpaks, seige mode, etc.
I second the author's final comment. Take your time Blizzard, take your time. I have plenty to play between now and next year.

That is also something I'm quite fond of, the ability to upgrade units that you like using. I think the mercenaries mechanic can be used to great effect too, I believe Blizz said they want to flesh this out more and have custom art for the mercs.
I can't wait to see what upgrades the Thor can get.
I'm also curious as to how the Zerg and Protoss campaigns will be handled.

Haha, no doubt. If only these were the days of Brood War and expansions cost $29.99 eh? Starcraft 2 will probably be $59.99 just because it can still sell well at that price point. I'll be pleasantly surprised if it is $49.99 though I know I'll probably buy the dam CE anyway.

Adjusting for inflation, the $29.99 that Brood War went for in 1999 would be $38.41 today, and Brood War cost a tiny fraction of what any of the Starcraft 2 expansions will cost to develop. Consumers rarely get nearly as raw of a deal as we like to think we do.

There was never really any question as to whether I was going to buy these games. They could turn out to summon the antichrist upon simultaneous installation of all three and I would gladly dance my way down to the hot place.
Sigh.

I would install and play one at a time. :D
I probably will buy all three anyway...
