Short and sweet: Shacknews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/59971) has word that Doom 2 for Xbox Live Arcade is being shown on the floor at QuakeCon and will contain a whole new bunch of content.
A whole new episode will be included, along with all of Doom 2's original content. Four-player split-screen multiplayer will be available in addition to online play.
Neither release date nor price are currently known for the port, which is being handled by Doom XBLA porter Nerve Software.
It's about time.

F that. Made the mistake of buying the first DOOM and never getting into a single multi-player match EVER.

Blame consoles. Multiplayer on consoles dries up faster than a puddle in the desert on all but the most popular games.
Stick to PC for multiplayer, or the best sellers on consoles for multiplayer that actually lasts.

When it first came out, a ton of people were online.
But as games normally go, it's impossible to find anybody online now.
Hopefully when this comes out, people will be playing online quite a bit.
Or maybe make some people want to go back and play the first one...

For the original Doom on XBLA, 4-play splitscreen was where it was at. You can't rely on people to keep playing those games online after the first month.

LMAO I found this VIA google and joined the site just to tell you this.

As of right now , i have IDE open on SKULLTAG alone, and there are 212 servers being run, and 73 players on. Usually there are more.
The fact that there are so many modded wads makes it have a very high replay value.
Also, will the live version play JUST normal or maybee allow extras like plutonia.wad and stuff like that?
