How's this for a marketing tactic? It's never going to work (you'll never get Wolfenstein for free) but it's worth mentioning nevertheless. Raven's Manveer Heir has claimed on his Twitter account (http://twitter.com/manveerheir) that if Wolfenstein beats Madden 10 in August, he'll reimburse everyone who bought it. You won’t believe this. Raven Software’s Manveer Heir has posted a message on his Twitter stating that if Wolfenstein outsells Madden 10 in the month of August, he’ll pay for your copy of Wolfenstein. However, in order to receive your money back, you’ll need to keep your copy of the receipt.

“Here’s the deal folks: if Wolfenstein outsells Madden 10 in August I will personally pay for your copy (keep your receipt) – SPREAD THE WORD,” his Twitter feed read. He didn’t go into anymore details about the throwdown with Madden 10.

Madden will sell a ton, Wolfenstein will sell some.

Indeed, I can see Manveer checking out their presale numbers, and just throwing out this statement as a pathetic attempt to grab a little attention for the game. I guess it worked, but only as looking like a sad game who is going to be forgotten and dumped in bargain bins quickly.

Its not like everyone is going to know about this or bother with it. And if it does outsell madden that pretty much tells you its going to be a good seller for quite a while.
