Aliens vs Predator Loses Some Class

While Aliens vs Predator already has three distinct races to play as, there was some rumblings about classes within those races. Rebellion has decided to lose that idea, and instead focus only on the three races to ensure things don't get too complicated. "Our multiplayer reveal will be happening later this year," he states. "Suffice to say that you will able to play as all three species and there are some great game modes that make the most of each of their special abilities.

There is a beautiful purity to the three-species combat we have."

Yes, and this is like the Starcraft of FPS games. Three different races, each of which have radically different strength sand weaknesses.

To me, that sounds like options. Not as many as would be provided by custom load outs and equipment, but still.

I think they should just eliminate humans from the game and stick to Aliens vs Predator. After all, there are no humans in the title. No humans should have been present in the movies either.

Saying 3 species is option enough isn't a good argument. They do each represent different gameplay styles, but you shouldn't be forced into a species if you'd rather play another, simply for a different experience.

It's kind of like saying that since there's Russians, Americans, and English in a WWII game there's enough variety.

I'm not asking for customization, just some different stats/weapons. Assault Marine vs Tech, for example, or Runner vs. Drone for the Aliens.

Perhaps, but a human was actually the main character in the first AvP comic (and pretty much all the later ones). So it's not surprising they include a human faction.

Yes, Space Marines. The original and sequel were a TON of fun, as all three species.

meh, its Aliens Vs Predators, its not an RPG, your only aim is to kill crap that doesn't look like you. The different species ARE the different classes.

It sounds like most of the people on here haven't played AVP2 online. Each of the 3 races, Predator, Human, and Alien, had different classes.
It was amazing!
The races were wildly different and it was a lot of fun!

This is really disappointing. It seems they aren't even trying to get up to the gameplay level of the first games.

Ugh I meant to play AVP 2 today. I was mucking around with my Predator DVD and it's on there as extra content.

Best boxset I ever bought. £14 for all 4 Alien, both Predator and both AVP films and I get AVP2 (the game) too? Awesome-o.

I'll just warn you all yet again that this will suck. I hope I'm wrong but Shellshit 2 and the last AVP game they did (for PSP to coincide with the last movie) says different.

I'm fine without classes - just let me play Alien and I'm happy. I don't know why, but being the Alien has always been my favorite roll in the series.
