Blizzcon tickets went on sale this last week and within 8 minutes they were sold out of 20,000 tickets at $125 a piece. Blizzcon will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California on August 20th - 21st.

During Activision Blizzard's conference call with investors this week, it was revealed that 20,000 tickets for BlizzCon 2009 were sold. Keep in mind that each ticket for the two day event cost a whopping $125; that's in comparison to a four day ticket to this year's San Diego Comic Con (which cost $75) or a three day ticket to this year's Penny Arcade Expo (which costs $50).

How would that help the consumer?

That's roughly U$5200 per second into Blizzards coffers.

Not too bad, I think.

Not to mention all the merchandise they will sellout of. Blizzard just continues to print money.

If only it wasn't going into Activision's coffers.

Yes, yes it is. Sure you get to play Starcraft 2, and probably see some great Diablo 3 footage, maybe even play Diablo 3. But that's it, I don't play WoW anymore.

As long as they make SC2 and D3 before 2015.

Better value than paying to view and listen to "madonna" or somether shitty performer.

Haha. I remember debating getting tickets for the second Blizzcon. Now it seems like if we ever wanted to go, it would be near impossible with how hot the sales on tickets are.

Not impossible, but really really expensive (http://cgi.ebay.com/Blizzcon-2009-Ticket-+-Goodie-Bag-+-Card_W0QQitemZ300334539555QQcmdZViewItem).

I agree. The market is already speaking loudly as to its willingness to pay. If you sell out in eight minutes at $125, you should go for $200 or $250 and sell out in under a day.
