Ubisoft has just released its latest financial results and the most interesting news among the bean-counting is that the release of Splinter Cell Double Agent is being pushed back from March to September on all platforms.

You can read more on the reasons for the delay (http://xbox.boomtown.net/en_uk/articles/art.view.php?id=10416) at Boomtown.

Uh. The headline says Chaos Theory. Have we slipped backwards in time?

I edited it here but for some reason the front page hasn't changed yet, edited it as soon as the story appeared. Can a mod sort that out please?

I'd say this is a good thing--they've been releasing these games way too quickly as it is. Ubisoft is great and all but they're pushing Tomb Raider-itis with Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia...they need to give them a break.

Wow, that is quite a bit of a delay, but for the better.

I am all for delays that ensure us a quality product at retail. But dammit I want to play this! hehe..

Wow, a Splinter Cell sequel more than a year after the last one? The world must be coming to an end.

Next thing you know Activision will be announcing that Tony Hawk has finally retired.

My wallet may just survive after all :-)

I'm actually kinda glad it's pushed. With Oblivion coming out, I'm really not going to be playing anything else for several months. Even Ghost Recon will be neglected :(

Plus, if it means more polish - that's a good thing.

I was expecting this, glad it finally happened so I can rest easier.

Let's hope it doesn't literally mean more polish, I think we have plenty of shiny-looking 360 games as it is (I'm looking at you, PDZ!).

I am almost always happy to hear about delays. Developers should take all the time they need to make a quality product.

I hope they don't stop making Splinter Cell games, I love these damned things.

Now if they could just make a normal Ghost Recon title for the PC.

Also, I need more Rainbow Six, much, much, much more Rainbow Six.

I have completed every game in all three series including expansion packs and I am foaming at the mouth for MORE!

Ewww...don't say PDZ. That game was pretty on the outside but dumb on the inside. Wait a tick, that's a good description of an ex of mine. :)

The outside wasn't so great either imho.
