So I was in Tesco who had it as £38.99 and also they would deduct the VAT @ 15% so thats about £32 or something. Also they had another Motion Plus thing at £17 which I felt I would have to buy as there is no point in having this game without two Motion Plus'

but I'm thinking is it worth the £50 I would have to part for it, now I've made a few gaming purchases in the past with the mind set "well I will buy it just to have it" (Wii Fit screams at me)

So this brings me to my question, is Nintendo hoping most of its customers are in this mind set of "oh I must buy this to have it" or is it committed to bring out quality family games that people want to buy because they are good fun?

I'm thinking the former because most of my Wii purchases have been because of this thought and I'm sure I cannot be alone in this mindset.

But if this is the case, does this make Nintendo no better than one of those magazines that come with a part of a dinosaur or a race car that to complete you have to buy all the magazines which are all prices £5.99

No wonder they're swimming in their money Scrooge McDuck style

In fact the more I think about this its not just Nintendo I do this with, my 360 has been kitted out with all the extras, plug and charge kit, wireless headset(which I don't use) and the PS3 with the Blu-Ray remote and the Dualshock 3

I'm wondering if I have mug written over my forehead

I'm not buying another Wii accessory for this reason. I'll try games that only require the peripherals I have but the MotionPlus is the ultimate slap in the face. No way!

I bought it on sale, but I still haven't tried it yet. I used to be big into Nintendo, but all the peripherals have steered me back towards PC games.

Well I just bought it today and I love it. Couldn't really be better in my opinion.

Firstly, it's not like Wii Sports. It's much more a fully featured game. I spent the afternoon playing just by myself for hours and had a great deal of fun. I haven't even tried all of the events. I found all the activities I played, even the ones I had heard negative things about, to be a great deal of fun. I would play an event for a few rounds and then wander on to the next one which perfectly recaptures the feel of what it was like to be in an arcade back in day.

As for the extra money for the wii motion plus... I can't understand anyone's argument against it. Clearly this is not a peripheral, it's an add on for the Wii. Every game from here on out is more likely than not to use it. IT's the same as when the Dual Shock came out on the PS1.

If you somehow went peripheral happy and bought a bunch of peripherals (and I don't even know what it is you could have bought unless you bought a bunch of third party tennis rackets or something) then... well.. that's your own fault. If you've been gaming for any amount of time you should be able to tell the necessary investments from the "this will get used once or twice" additions. And moreover, it only raises the price of the game to competitive levels of the other two consoles standard titles and from a day of playing it, Wii Sports Resort offers twice the amount of unique fun that those titles do.

Wii Sports Resort is, at this point in time, an experience that is only available on the Wii and only available with Wii Motion Plus. I'm enjoying it and I would say it's worth the money.

For anyone on the fence and worried about the amount of content, let me say that the game easily has restructured itself to be made for multiple playthroughs.

Of most note is the "stamp" system whish is essentially the same as achievements. On entering any event, you can click a stamp in the top right corner to see a list of objectives that you can accomplish during play to recieve a stamp of accomplishment. This could be anything from "find all the hidden location markers" in the airplane flyover of Wuhu Island to killing an opponent with a certaint type of strike in the sword fighting game.

Well I am not buying it, should have come with the damned thing and rubbish mini games are not my cup of tea. As for the Wii fit board, every mug that I know who bought one never uses it anymore. Keep your money and move along, Nintendo have a bad habit of releasing hardware that they never support past the first game.
